I saw her in Las Vegas years ago. She was wonderful....One of the first things she said was "I am Carrie Fisher's Mother"......I got a chance to meet her.....Very nice
RIP Debbie
RIP to a truly lovely lady and STAR. One of the last of the old Hollywood royals. So heartbreaking.
Singin' In the Rain is one of my favorite movies.
Good Morning is my favorite number from that film.
Have you got a hot line to the morgue JC-or to JC ? Please don't notify of any more celebrity deaths-at least this year.
Had the greatest pleasure to see and meet Ms Reynolds-what a class act and such a clever mimic.
2 people I miss--Peter Allen and now Ms Reynolds.
It's getting awfully crowded up there.

This is a rough one. Real rough. One of our last treasured connections to old Hollywood. And my favorite of all the dames. Rest peacefully, Ms. Reynolds! You were one of a kind.

well she did if you include the fact that her daughter Carrie Fisher sadly passed away yesterday.
i agree with BC re: Billie Lourde, how terrible to lose your mother and grandmother one day after the other. I heard they were all living together, how empty that house will be now.
Rest in peace Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher.
Singin' in the Rain has never been one of my favorite movies (blasphemy, I know) but I always loved her performance in it and thought the fact that she filmed Good Morning until there was blood in her tap shoes was such a truly badass story. What a total legend.
This was a long time ago, but my mother saw Debbie Reynolds in a matinee of what must have been her Tony nominated role in Irene. Shortly after the end of the show, Miss Reynolds appeared in the lobby of the theater and a receiving line was formed for those who had stayed.
The day after her daughter. Can one die of a broken heart?
I also saw Debbie in a matinee of Irene in Washington DC. I guess it was the tour. It was the 2nd musical I had ever seen. Debbie passed out little pre-autographed prints. I had it for years. I wonder if I still do. Would be cool to find in now.
That poor family. May they find peace and comfort, somehow.
RIP ladies.
Truly tragic
I will always remember both ladies with gratitude and affection.
Debbie Reynolds was truly one of a kind. Whenever I hear Good Morning it still puts a smile on my face. Cannot believe that within a week both she and George Irving have passed, I too was lucky enough to see them both on Broadway in Irene. RIP.
One of my faves and one of the greats. She excelled at everything she did. RIP to a great lady.
The Hilary Knight artwork for her Broadway show IRENE is one of my favorite. I have the Original Broadway Cast Album cover framed. It captures Debbie perfectly...she was always so "bubbly".
I was always skeptical of "dying of a broken heart," but there is really no other reason this could have happened. They'll never be apart again.

WHY are you skeptical???? it's a very very real thing.... read about it, please!
my thoughts and prayers with Debbie. loved her a lot
Peace, friend. I said I WAS once skeptical. I'm not anymore.

this is just a high-profile example. dying of heartbreak has long been a very real and clinically proven event/episode. so no need for the skepticism!!!! RIP Debbie

Didn't she die from a stroke? It's hard not to think it could be related to be related to stress from her daughter. But still. I wonder if we are taking the phrase heart broken a little bit too literally.

Yes and she had two earlier strokes this year. I'm sure her broken heart was stressful enough to warrant another stroke.
She was one of the first celebrities to host an AIDS fundraiser way back in the early eighties, even when stagehands and others (including her son Todd) did not want to participate. RIP sweet lady with the always perfectly coiffed hair.
