What spirited replies!
OK, perhaps my previous posting was too obtuse. I apologize. Let me be more direct.
To the question of whether "Deuce" will close in previews, which is how this thread started:
It ain't gonna!
You folks can chat about in until your keyboards break, but to the single question that was posed at the genesis of this thread, no, "Deuce" will not close in previews.
And that is not rumor or gossip; that is fact!
This thread is really irresponsible- a malicious rumor will now start spreading.
Sweetie, that rumor was started before this thread existed. And now DARTH informs us that the rumor is officially dead and the show WILL open as scheduled. So really, what's the point anymore?
jaystarr: You traveled 8 hours to see Ms. Lansbury in DEUCE - a 100 minute play, and left 83 minutes into the play to catch your bus back home? What the heck was the point? Lord. Traveling 8 hours each way, and you didn't get the bus schedules correct beforehand? Wow. Some people amaze me.

I agree, D2.
If that show has opened to the public and they are charging for tickets, feedback is to be expected. BWW just expands the size of the word-of-mouth coffeeshop.
I read the boards on BWW to find out what to expect from a show before I decide to spend time/money on seeing it.
I can't get information from publicity or advertising that doesn't have a motive of selling the show. You can get some views here that are at least independent of that motive.
Wanna Be Foster- You know what?- I was told that the last bus will leave by 11 pm, then they change the schedule to 10 pm.
Beforehand .. I knew that the play is only 100 mins, so
I will have time to see it, unfortunatately I was told later that If I miss the bus- we have to catch it the 6 am... So I guess we have to make that crucial decision to leave at 930 pm..(which I really REGRET ) WE usually dont do this at all.. We drive to NYC most of the time and stay with my sisters to see batch of different shows. We have tried seeing a show at matinee before (Journey's End) and going back to Boston the same day and it work ..This is our second time to try it...but I guess It does not work at evening shows , even the show is only 100 mins (compare to some musical) and For the Record - Ms. Angela Lansbury & Ms. Marian Seldes is worth is 8 hours R/t to Boston (just to see them onstage which we never did after DEUCE) --- Sometimes I wish we livein NYC ! -J*

AMTRACK would have gotten you into NYC faster and runs with great regularity.

No. He said it was an 8 hr roundtrip.
Yup- I am Filipino/American. Amtrak is very expensive. Its like around $132 or more R/T -its like flying already. We tried this Lucky Star /Fung Wah Bus (yup! the one that was on the news all the time !- it was not really that bad though)from Boston (Chinatown) to NYC (Chinatown) for $30.00 R/T for 4 hours one way.( 8 total) Its worth the trip ( as like ..the credit card commercial ) Bus trip $ 30.00 Deuce Tix $ 30.00 Lunch $ 20.00 etc...The chance to see Angela Lansbury onstage live for the first time ... PRICELESS ( Pls do not ask me about that Play..let's leave it that way !)-J*
