Well, but I'm afraid to say that Diana doesn't really have a strong following. Her CD didn't do well, and she was just headlining an Off Bway show that CLOSED!!!
Not like Amy or Kerri have a big following either. The 3 of them are known, but none of them are "BIG" names yet.
The DeGarmo fans are hilarious. They come out of woodwork whenever and only whenever her name is mentioned here.

The role of Sherrie does not need someone with a "name."

You are correct, but still, Amy and Kerri are somehow known in the Bway community(both nominated to either a Tony or Drama Desk Awards) and Diana is a Reality Tv star. It seems they won't cast a newcomer like Savannah Wise for too long in it.
Well, if it's not Diana, then they should bring back Savannah, who is still arguable the best Sherrie. And if not that, then bump up Emily Padgett, who is also phenomenal in the role.

ljay, I won't speak for the "others" because I only see them posting here but, for me, I can't dispute that. :)
I'm first and foremost a fan of Diana's, though I do enjoy musicals with or without her. I just post here and there when something comes up related to Diana and theatre.
I tend to think the "group" of Diana fans, if we have to be grouped together, has been pretty calm and polite on BWW over the years, especially in light of some blowups involving other AI fanbases on the boards.
Regardless, there's no intent and never has been to start a fight or shove her down anybody's throat if they don't like her. For me that's why I just stay out of the way, in the occasional Diana related thread.

I think Diana is an amazing talent

These are some of the same things that were said about Constantine in the Wedding Singer thread when he joined that show. If she gets cast it's because ROA feels she can handle the role.
I hope Diana gets the part. I would look forward to seeing a strong singer in the part of Sherri, not just a Broadway belter. The only time I saw Diana was on AI and I thought her voice was terrific.
Would totally enjoy her singing High Enough with Constantine.
Marie 2, there is nothing wrong with what you or the other Diana fans are doing. Fans of plenty other actors "come out of the woodwork" when there's a thread about the actor they like. I do it too . that's one of the reasons forums like this exist - to discuss the things about the business that interest you!
I would love to see this happen! I was a huge fan of hers in Hairspray and I would love to see her take on the role.... I bet she would be hilarious!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"

If I recall correctly, Diana once stated that she saw Constantine is as a big brother. That'll be hard to do if she has to kiss him eight times a week. lol

I wonder if she's doing Hair? Is Caissie making the move to London?
What is Kelli Barrett doing these days?
She was so good !!

Although Hair sounds like an interesting prospect, I would really like to see Diana in Mary Poppins. Too bad she's already put Wicked out of the running.

She's doing Hair not Rock of Ages. There is stuff floating around Facebook that seems to back that up, including a comment on her FB page from a woman who was at the same Hair callback with her. Diana hasn't said anything one way or the other so she's probably following professional protocol and waiting for the producers to make the announcement.

The only two things we know for a fact are that Diana is joining a Broadway show and she auditioned for Hair this week.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if she auditioned for both Hair and Rock of Ages, which would explain the chatter concerning both shows. I like both shows but do lean more towards Rock of Ages, just because it would be a bigger role.

Although i still believe it will be ROA I wouldn't mind seeing her naked in HAIR. She better start going retro hahahahaha
