Diana DeGarmo to star in "Oz: The Musical"

There was a press release for this in my local paper. It seems to be playing only Texas cities, from late January to (most likley) Late March.

Has anyone heard *anything* about this?

Probably. It seems to be a melisma-heavy show, and one thing AI contestants know is melisma.
Who would pay $23.50 for this?

I loved Oz so the thought did cross my mind for a quick second.

I might be inclined to check this out if possible. I have a lot of respect for Diana after seeing Hairspray and Brooklyn; her voice alone might elevate the show. She does seem to be slumming a bit with this production but a paycheck is a paycheck in this economy.

The audition notice went up Monday on Playbill, but it mention anything about Diana as Dorothy.

This sounds like it'll be trashy...wonder how she is getting around AEA since it's Non-Equity.

I'll definitely think about this show when it flies into Austin on February 21st. It does sound like it's an affordable show. It's important to support the arts, whatever the admission price. from RC in Austin, Texas

I can't wait to see how they stage Schillinger tatooing the swastika on Beecher's ass. that was a really powerful scene.
