Posted: 12/19/09 at 9:11amMaybe she did extend. I thought her leaving would have been announced with Erin Mackey's.

Posted: 12/19/09 at 11:26amI don't think Dee extended, she just has a normal 6 month contract (Erin is leaving after like 5) so we will be hearing who will replace her soon I'm guessing.

Diana already confirmed on her facebook that it would not happen.
I'm crushed as well

If I had a choice for the next Elphaba, I would want either:
Jemma Rix
Kate Shindle
Diana DeGarmo
Nicole Parker

"Jemma Rix
Kate Shindle
Diana DeGarmo
Nicole Parker"
I love this list. Jemma sings Defying Gravity so effortlessly.

So has Lea Salonga and Lea Michele. Have you heard anything from either of them? :/

Posted: 12/20/09 at 10:34pmLet's hope she didn't extend. With Katie Rose Clarke coming in now, it would be great to have someone opposite her that's on her level- Dee is certainly not. I'd LOVE to see Lisa Brescia. I think she brings so much depth to the role that hasn't been seen over at Wicked in a while.

Posted: 12/21/09 at 3:34amLisa and Annaleigh were an amazing team. I would love to see Lisa in Wicked again. Chicago was very lucky!

Posted: 12/21/09 at 4:25amThey would have been luckier if she'd been there longer. Even though I didn't like Annaleigh's Glinda, I did think her chemistry with Lisa was fabulous.

I'm sorry, but Annaleigh was the worst Glinda IMO. Katie is fabulous. I've never seen her in the role, but I have seen her in other things and can't wait to finally see her in Wicked.
Looks like I'll be trying to get my unused Wicked ticket replaced for an upcoming performance in January!
And I totally agree with the Lisa comments, unfortunately I don't think she'll be coming back to Wicked. Sad day.
But, I'm all for the Jemma Rix love! SHE is fantastic!

Posted: 12/21/09 at 1:51pmI've always thought it would be amazing if Carmen Cusack replaced Dee, but that's just a dream because of her new tour. Erin Mackey is apparently leaving so soon because she is set to replace that Kendra Kassebaum in Wicked (San Francisco) in February. I know Kendra has been here forever, but why replace her with someone who has been here nearly as long as she has? Bump up a standby, or get a fresh face, anything!

Posted: 12/21/09 at 2:39pmDoes no one like Victoria Matlock or Christina DeCicco at all? They were the only pair I saw and thought they were great! :)
#20re: Did Dee extend in Wicked?
Posted: 12/21/09 at 2:51pmI loved both of them as well! They said that the only way they would come back were if they were together. I hope they do some day!

Oh really? Hmm... I never heard that. Where did you heard that from?mMaybe they can do it again soon, since Christina is almost done with The Marvelous Wonderettes and Victoria just finished The First Wives Club. There is hope. :)

They did say that. If Christina were to come back I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't like it if Victoria came back. I thought her voice was too shrieky and she had trouble keeping out with the music. Four people I know saw her at different shows and they didn't think she was right for the role.

Christina DeCicco is my all-time favorite Glinda (I've seen Chenoweth and several others). She had wonderful acting chops, making the character terrifically real, with a depth that resonated with audiences. DeCicco created a believable character arc unlike any other actress I'd seen in the role...and her "Popular" was actually grounded...I hate seeing phony, non-hooked up renditions of this number...it's annoying, to put it bluntly.
Matlock was a powerful Elphaba, with a presence that radiated mystique and intrigue. Elphaba is too often nowadays played as an over-the-top whiner, but Matlock stayed true to the original intent of sarcasm, and a stern guard that hides vulnerability.

That has zero relevance.
