I think a good Act One ending would be " I Can Go The Distance(Reprise)" where Hercules flies off with Pegasus
I would love for "Hunchback" to end up on Broadway someday !!
I really want to hear someone belt "Out There" !!!

Yes I hope it does make it's way to Broadway..it was a hit in Germany..I also want to see Mulan badly..well and Sleeping Beauty and of course Aladdin
The muses are characters that, if casted correctly (Any past Dreamgirl member?!), would be an absolute riot to see live on stage. I think they have the potential to steal the show.

Agreed..they pretty much already steal the movie...so I'm sure they would steal the show definatly if casted correctly..Perhaps J. Hud could be the funny chubby muse(not in a bad way, I love Jennifer Hudson), that muse is my favorite and a good belter

This is actually a good opportunity to ask: which singer played which Muse?
I'm dying to know which one was Lillias White.
I wish I knew which played which muse; I've been trying to figure it out for a while.
I don't know that much about most of the women playing the muses, but Roz Ryan's voice is the most obvious. She's easily the most distinguished.
And the best.
Roz Ryan, Cheryl Freeman, Lillias White, *someone that's escaping me*, and LaChanze!
PS~ Does LaChanze surprise anyone else? I read that and my exact reaction was: WOAH NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!
And the singing voice of Hercules is Roger "Should Be Igor" Bart!

Well, I knew the names; I'm wondering which singer was which muse.
No, not in that order. Roz Ryan is the short, fat one... second from the left in that pic.
La Chanze surprised me too! I was so pumped when I first found out, LOL.
No, I have no idea about the picture, sorry!
Dream Cast of Muses for Broadway: J-Hud, LaChanze, Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Anika Noni Rose!
*It Could Work!*
Lillias White is the main muse... the one in the middle in that picture. LaChanze is either the 1st or 4th one... i can't figure out which one because i don't believe she has a solo.
Here's a pic from Roz's website. And how dare someone try to cast this without her!! Even if it means stealing her away from "Chicago" for longer than usual...

Thanks for the responses; I wish that we had a definitive list. Come on, Disney!
Edit: I'm watching "The Gospel Truth (Part 1)" and the "main" muse is definitely Lillias White; I can tell just from the talking.
LaChanze is the fourht muse in that picture (the one with the crazy, short hair) and Cheryl Freeman is the one with the long flowy hair (the fifth one). I don't remember the name of the other member. But, yes, if cast correctly the Muses would be electrifying on stage. And of course "Zero to Hero" would be the Act 1 closer.
What makes the movie so perfect for adaptation is that it has a storyline (unlike Tarzan), has opportunities for imaginative staging and designs (like The Lion King), can be done very effectively using the tactic of "less is more" (unlike Beauty and the Beast), and has enough witty references to keep adults entertained as well as phenomenal music to keep the audience's feet tapping. Not to mention, David Zippel's lyrics are quite impressive: "From appearence fees/to royalties/our Herc had cash to burn/Now nouveau riche and famous/he could tell you 'What's a Gretian urn/earn?'"-Quite brilliant, I think.
Bring Pocahontas to Broadway..that would be just amazing..
Pocahontas? Really? I think it would be pretty bad.
Totally agree with the lyrics. Definitely the best of any Disney musical, especially on the "Zero to Hero" number.
"Who put the 'glad' in gladiator? Hercules!
Whose daring deeds are great the-A-tre? Hercules!
Isn't he bold?
Nobody braver!
Is he sweet?
Our fav'rite flavor!"
Haha. Love that one.
"Folks lined up just to watch him flex,
and his perfect package packed a pair of pretty pecs!"
(Ooooh, Roger, what alliteration!)
Okay, I'll stop now.
Okay, okay. One more. One more. Promise.
"When he smiled,
the girls went wild
With Oooooohs and Aaaaaaahs.
And they slapped his face
On ev'ry vase--
On every VAHZ!"

I agree with whoever said "Zero to Hero" as the Act I finale...maybe at the end, add a little bit of the music and riffing that's at the end of "Gospel Truth I" (the part that's right after "Though honey it may seem impossible, that's the gospel truth") and, ooh, awesome.
The only thing that would not work for me is that the movie has such a great visual style that I'd hate to see it fudged with for stage.

Why should every single Disney film from the 90s be turned into a mediocre stage show??

I think in all sincerity the movie is amazing (just lik notre dame) n i lik that its not all like everything else, it has some gospel n strong ass deep voices with the muses... i think it would kick butt on broadway espcially hades... his hilarious in the movie. and Meg is not the typical girl... But y do we always cast ppl for the show ... come on i think they need to bring out new ppl lik they did wit little mermaid.. how else r ppl going to get discovered i bet there are amazing ppl out there waiting to get discovered that can blow u off ur chair.
Um...English?
