They'd have to take some stuff out, like the big fight with the 12-headed Hydra. There is no way to do that onstage.
If it goes on Broadway I think that Roger Bart should be cast as Young Hercules or Hercules.

How about Cheyenne as Hercules? Just to see him displaying himself in a loincloth would have me rushing to the theatre.
Loincloth!?!?!?!?
It's called a toga, geez! :p
Roger Bart really doesn't have the voice to do Young Hercules anymore. His voice has really deteriorated since he started his Broadway career and the eight shows a week thing. Plus, he really wouldn't be believable, now would he?
I'm all about Cheyenne as Hercules.

Cheyenne Jackson or Matthew Morrison would be pefect for Hercules!

As long as Cheyenne's showing his legs, I don't care what you call it.

There is only one song that I really could actually see on Broadway but the others? I think Disney needs to stay away from that idea. They mite make Hercules' muscles from baloons and Pegasus will be a puppet. NO thank you. Lion King is the only one that fits like that! Except in the Little Mermaid Sebastian should have been a puppet and they should of used the bird as a big puppet. I just cant wait for the Hunchback to open next year. Disney better not ruin that!
Okay, for the last time, HUNCHBACK is being 'considered' -- NOTHING IS SET IN STONE YET, so please, don't assume it's coming in '09. Right now, it's just 'talk' - Keep praying, though. Happy thoughts help the process along!

I think if Alan Menken were to write the rest of the score for a Broadway version of Hercules it will probably be a sucess. Back to Hunchback, I know its still in talks and I wrote to Disney on Broadway about it and they responded as it is in the works for a late 2009 opening.Whether or not someone was messing with me or was being serious, im not sure. But, Hunchback could turn out amazing. But anyway, for no I vote NO for Hercules on Broadway, but if Menken wre to do it . . . I vote 100% go for it!

I just found out that Carole Shelly did the voice for one of the Fates. Personally the score of Hercules is my favorite Disney score (I Won't Say (I'm in Love) IMO is the best song in any Disney movie.
Why wouldn't Menken do the music? He's done the music for all of the other screen to stage adaptations that he originally did the music for.

So, if Disney was to go ahead and bring Hercules to Broadway there would need to be standards. ***Please note that this my opinions***
- They will need to have a professional Director so that the show does NOT end up like The Little Mermaid and Tarzan
- They need a stuning cast espeically Hercules, Meg, Hades, The Muses, and Phil
- Hercules needs more songs, Meg needs a huge song to belt out, Hades needs a song just like Ursulla has in TLM, The Muses are fine they just need ladies that can really belt out songs like the RENT soloists, and Phil will need a song that helps Hercules like Ill Make you a Man from Mulan
- A Stunning Set
Thats just me personally. Please respond!

"They will need to have a professional Director so that the show does NOT end up like The Little Mermaid and Tarzan"
Um...as does every show...?
"They need a stunning cast especially Hercules, Meg, Hades, The Muses, and Phil "
I would assume that they would cast it as well as they could.
"Hercules needs more songs, Meg needs a huge song to belt out, Hades needs a song just like Ursulla has in TLM, The Muses are fine they just need ladies that can really belt out songs like the RENT soloists, and Phil will need a song that helps Hercules like Ill Make you a Man from Mulan"
Um...did you see the movie? Phil HAS a song that chronicles him helping Hercules, Meg HAS a song to belt out: "I Won't Say I'm in Love", and it's pretty obvious that they would add songs to the score to help flesh out Hercules (who, by the way, is a pretty well developed character already).
"A Stunning Set"
With Disney, that's usually the main objective.
Basically, all of these points you're making are rather basic. They're all true, but it's nothing different from any other Broadway show. Or at least, any good adaptation would need "more songs", a "good cast", a "good director", and a "good set".
Cheyenne would be great as Hercules.
Nathan Lane would be a good Phil, but I don't see that happening.
And Sherie Rene Scott should totally be Meg.
This is the only Disney movie I like. I'd love to see the book scenes being done in a similar style to original greek plays, ie. simple masks to represent things, but then having all the songs done 'modernly' (ie. flashing lights, maybe like a rock concert.

There used to be a show for Disney Cruise Line called Hercules the Muse-ical, and it was a fantastic show. It was one of my favorites, and I would love to see it made into something bigger.
Jennifer Hudson used to be a performer on DCL, and when she was, she was one of the Muses in the show. I loved seeing her do that show. She was amazing even back then

I think Sherie's too old for Meg...
Sherie Rene Scott is too old for Meg.
Hercules - Cheyenne Jackson
Meg - Jenn Gambatese? or Mara Davi...
Hades - don't know yet
Phil - Nathan Lane or Ernie Sabella
Muses - LaChanze, Jennifer Hudson, Lillias White

Honestly, I love Disney's Hercules and wouldn't mind if it came to Broadway. I'm just so upset that Broadway is becoming an amusement park. Safe, clean, happy. No risks.
It's becoming Disney World.
I think it'd be an awesome show! the music is so good. "Zero to Hero" would be a huge show stopper. The muses would have to be darn good though. and i'm not too sure how i'd feel about cheyenne jackson being hercules...but he could be amazing i guess
How about Jeff McCarthy as Hades, Norm Lewis as Zeus, and Jonathan Groff as Young Hercules?
Douglas Sills would make an incredible Hades. Just saying.
Cheyenne Jackson would have to be Hercules. He's pretty much tailor-fit for that character in every possible way.
P.S.- Sherie shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this property.
P.P.S.- And let's not let Norm Lewis ruin another majestic Disney father figure? Cause he's done enough damage to King Triton.
Updating my list:
Hercules - Cheyenne Jackson
Meg - Jenn Gambatese? or Mara Davi...
Hades - Douglas Sills
Phil - Nathan Lane or Ernie Sabella
Muses - LaChanze, Jennifer Hudson, Lillias White
