that looks pretty cool actually. she would be ideal casting as ursula and vanessa. what is happening about the casting as sara is in GREY'S ANATOMY or was that just a one time deal?

Okay, I didn’t want to threadjack, but I didn’t want to start a new thread either.

I know this is WAY early, but what do you think the bowing order for Mermaid will be like?

Ensemble
Ariel’s sisters
Vanessa (if played by a different actress)
Grimsby & Carlotta
Louis
Flotsam & Jetsam
Flounder
Triton
Scuttle
Eric (could be switched w/ Sebastian)
Sebastian
Ursula
Ariel

It’s very sad that I’m excited for something I won’t see until it goes on tour, or I get lucky enough to afford a trip to New York.

Oh yeah I forgot about him. Maybe he would bow with Vanessa and Max (forgot about the dog, too).

I just hope they don’t have that chorus of seagulls that’s on the demo, but they’d probably go after Ariel’s sisters.

Any casting ideas about the Seahorse? He was always my favorite part of the movie. So versatile. First he announces King Triton and Sebastian at the concert. Then he has to tell Triton no one can find Ariel. I hope they find an actor that can really dive into the text.

Those sets are amazing for Opera but DISNEY better be careful and not go for the physical production and miss the heart of the story and the music.
They had a Big mis step with TARZAN depending on Crowley as director.

Someone asked before if the cast would be different for Denver and Broadway. A few people I know auditioned for the Broadway ensemble, so I would guess that the cast would be different (although the leads will problably be the same).

I need to correct my earlier post.....The Little Mermaid will be at the new Ellie Caulkins Opera House (formally The Auditorium Theare). Anyone who has been in the Auditorium Theatre knows it was long overdue for renovation. It is now a very state of the art facility and a beautiful one. It seats 2,225 people.

I already have a block of seats for The Little Mermaid. Last I spoke to someone involved at the DCPA, no dates or prices have been set yet. Dates will depend on how close they stick to schedule for building sets, rehearsals, casting, etc.

"Right. Because Lillias can totally play the young, beautiful transformed Ursula who tricks Price Eric into thinking she's the beautiful young woman he heard singing that one night"-FOAnatic

wont beautiful ursula be played by ariel with a wig because its her voice? just wondering what you guys thought...

i like sara as an option...she is a little young for my liking and maybe a little thin but she brings that whole sexy in different way thing to the role and she has good face for it...

I don't think that can work. Even if you took out the scene with Ariel overseeing Eric w/ Vanessa while telling Grimsby about the wedding, they both play too vital a part in appearing at the wedding to have the actress play both parts.

Perhaps Ariel's understudy could have the part of Vanessa. Then she's similar enough.

My dream cast:

Ariel - Sarah Uriarte Berry
Scuttle - Michael McGrath
Ursala - Sarah Rameriz (sp?)
Prince - Raul Esparza?
Triton - Shuler Hensley

those are the only ones I care about :)

Raul Esparza is to old but I don't think the others are...

Those of you in Denver would know who I'm talking about, but no one else on this board would, but I think Kathy Brady would be a flawless Ursula.

That woman doesn't do anything that isn't brilliant.

Say not that name, B3!

I don't think she would do it....would she? I wouldn't if I was raking in the dough she is with Wicked in London right now.
