For those with no reading comprehension: they aren't steaming he entire show:
The live performance of the show’s hit number “Santa Fe” will be broadcast from the actual city of Santa Fe, N.M., featuring current touring cast members Joey Barreiro (as Jack Kelly), Morgan Keene (Katherine), Andy Richardson (Crutchie) and Stephen Michael Langton (Davey). The event, starting at 4 p.m. Pacific on Monday, June 20, will be broadcast live on Disney’s Facebook page.

I know it's been awhile since I've seen Newsies, but since when are Katherine and Davey involved in Santa Fe? The prologue of Santa Fe that opens the show includes Crutchie, but the act one finale of Santa Fe is a Jack solo. ..So, how does that make sense?

Oh, this is disappointing. I was hoping this would complete the trifecta after "She Loves Me", and "Hamilton" announced they were going to be video recorded.
What would Disney have to lose by video recording one of the final tour stops before the tour ends in October, and releasing it in theaters, or something?
Would help keep the show in the spotlight, now that regionals will start performing it.
Was hoping the trend of video recording bigger, and more popular shows would continue.

The article says the broadcast will run about 20 minutes. So they must be doing more than just Santa Fe.

This ended up being pretty bad. Clips of the show on tour, interview, a bit of dancing, then acoustic version of Santa Fe. Sound is horrible so I can't hear half of the interview responses. I fast forwarded through it.
