Drama, I'm Sorry but I disagree. I avoid matinees because there are too many blue hairs and it does change the audience energy level. Not to mention multiple cell phones ringing, the "What did he just say?", the ringing from the hearing aid they forgot to turn off, the "I don't like these seats Harvey, we are too close"...I could go on and on but MATINEES generally are not the crowd I am looking to see a show with...
EDIT: I was at Once matinee about a year ago. Enjoying the show, the older couple in back of me spew out this gem right near the end when it is very quiet and most of the audience is in tears (Piano given as gift)

Blue hair two: Yea, and she is not even that pretty.
Not what I want to hear at the emotional climax of a show.
Matinees suck.
BTW my BF is 70 so I am not being agist or anything I am speaking from experience. He hates matinees for the same reasons I do, to quote him, "Too many old people".
