Just wondering what some of the people here think? Do you think that they will be at the opening night of Evita? I am guessing Mandy might but that Patti won't.

Patti is one of only a few I trust.

She needs to attend! That way, I can see if it's any good going by her inability to hide what she really feels. Like the hilarious expressions she made at the Tonys--spoke louder than words! So when they ask what she thought of Roger, her voice will say "she was aiight." Her expression will scream: "That bitch? Got nuthin' on me."

Patti saw Sutton do Anything Goes (after Sutton won the Tony for the role and Patti did not) and Mandy saw the Roundabout revival of Sunday in the Park (his all-time favorite show, and his favorite performing experience) -- if that means anything. Mandy and Patti saw their biggest competition of the season, too - Hugh Jackman.

Patti's friend Michael Cerveris is playing a lead (and I'm sure will be great), I don't see why they wouldn't go to see it. It would be childish of them to avoid it. If she does go, I'm sure it won't be opening night because then she'd have to see her good friend Andy there. And what a confrontation that would be.

I do find these stories interesting. In a semi-related example apparently Bernadette Peters also saw the Roundabout revival of SUNDAY but did not head over and see her Tony Award winning-Pal Patti in GYPSY because it was "too soon".

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Too soon for what? And she actually saw SITPWG, I was there.

I think if Patti wants to go, she will go. Why should she avoid ALW? "Let HIM squirm, I have every f*cking right to be there!" I imagine her thinking.

(Btw, is Sir redundant now that he's a Lord?)
Edit - in any case, as a non-British citizen, I don't recognize whatever title he may have. He's just Mr. Lloyd Webber in America.

^ As if Patti would find that statement insulting.

She'd probably respond to the idea of having her original take of Eva celebrated on the opening night of another's with "he's right, dolls!"
