Wayman_Wong said: "Much will be written about Dolly Parton's hit songs, like ''Jolene'' and ''I Wil Always Love You.'' But I want to call attention to ''From Here to the Moon and Book,'' a lesser-known, but lovely and lilting tune she wrote for "Joyful Noise'' (2012), a wonderful movie written and directed by Todd Graff (who also did ''Camp'' and was a Tony nominee for ''Baby''). Dolly played G.G. Sparrow as she recalls her late husband (Kris Kristofferson), and Jeremy Jordan, in his feature film debut, portrayed Randy, her grandson.
When I did a profile of Jeremy for the N.Y. Daily News on the eve of his starring in ''Newsies,'' opening on Broadway in 2012, I got to quote Dolly, who sang Jeremy's praises: ''I love Jeremy to death. He's a joy to be around and a great singer, too. We got to do a duet ['From Here to the Moon and Back'], which was a real treat.''
Somehow you always manage to find a way to make it about yourself...
