Currently the revival of Doubt is on sale from Feb 2-April 14 (including previews), and with stars like Tyne Daly and Liev Schrieber, I find it really hard to believe that they’re bothering to mount this on Broadway for just 9 weeks, and close before Tony Nominations, or Award, (I realize Home allegedly has the American Airlines booked for May, but that’s after this season’s Tony Awards cutoff, no further details have been relseased on this production, and it could easily be pushed back to late summer if need be...) Similarly, Days of Wine and Roses is currently slated to play just a 16 week engagement at Studio 54 from Jan 6-April 28th. I realize this is a tougher sell commercially and 16 weeks might be pretty ambitious, but I’d again have a hard time believing that Kelli O’ Hara and Brian D’Arcy James wouldn’t be a big enough draw to sell this through the Tony’s… What are people’s thoughts on the likelihood of one or both of these really limited runs extending at least through the Tony’s? For what it’s worth, I can’t believe Spamalot wouldn’t play through the summer either…
