Seems pretty set with this Ticketmaster link, even though there hasn't been a press announcement yet.

I love many in this cast, but I'm especially excited to see Lisa Howard back on Broadway.
My guess was right! Guess Spongebob is dead!
Spongebob seems to be dead. I can't imagine any other theater they'd be looking at.
Was really pulling for Spongebob. Ah well.
Didn't some people say they are looking at the palace and where kinky boots is
anyone else think The Illusionists will be back this winter at The Marquis?

Perhaps Spongebob at the Palace?

I've been told that SpongeBob will take the Palace for a limited run before the renovation begins.
A limited run for SpongeBob actually sounds like a decent idea to me because Nick would be playing the long game. I would have a limited audience on Broadway and at top price (though the production is fantastic), but it will probably be produced en masse afterwards for local and school groups. The legitimizing power of a money-losing Broadway run for a kid-friendly show is a lesson that could be taken from shows like Shrek and Seussical.

ugh
That's true. It would do well in licensing. I mean Shrek is still going strong despite being a "flop" on Broadway.
But it just seems an odd choice of theater. It's so dark and gloomy. But maybe that will help with the "under water" appeal.

Yay a crap musical going on to a broadway stage. So happy
And people wonder why the Broadway musical is in such bad shape
I'll give it at most two months.
So the crummy show with Gloria Estefan's music is replaced by a crummy show with Jimmy Buffet's music? No thanks.
This should last the summer, not!

Considering the successes of this past season, I don't think anyone is wondering this.

Really, I think most people think the last few Broadway musical seasons have been quite good.

Sounds like there are a lot of extremely closed minded anti-Parrotheads out there.Me, I love the theater, but I've always been a Jimmy Buffett fan. At his best, I think he's a fine songwriter. Can the theater crowd give this at least as much of a chance as, say Nine To Five?

"True and good luck filling those 1611 seats at the Marquis! This show will not do that! Next...

To be fair, 9 to 5 wasn't a jukebox musical. It falls into the category with Kinky Boots, The Last Ship, and Waitress with scores by popular songwriters and performers. If I'm not mistaken, Margaritaville IS made up of pre-existing material out to an original storyline like Mamma Mia.
^I thought I read on here jimmy buffet was also writing new music for this?

I can't wait for the scene where someone is asked what they want for lunch and sing "Cheese Burger in Paradise. Heaven on Earth with an onion slice!" Lin Manuel better watch out with that kind of word-play.

Seeing this next week in LaJolla, I have a friend in the show. For those criticizing the show, have you even seen it?
