Well they missed their chance of hiring Christina, I think she would have sold tickets.

Its interesting to hear other peoples opinions on the show. I have to personally disagree with some people though. I thought the show was beautiful. Its grown to become one of my favorites. As for the cast...Having seen both Christna and Elena, I think both are stellar in the role, and what Elena may lack in voce, she makes up for in acting (the night saw her didnt think she was that bad. She didnt have that horrendous 'Star QUALITY" thats on the recording.) Ricky I thought was good, not the best part of the show, but good. Id be interested in seeing Max in the role. I cant wait to see the show again (maybe with Jess or Laurel as Eva!) and to eventually see the tour!

"^ Sounds like Patti's review of the show! Minus wishing he'd sing "Livin' La Vida Loca""
When did Patti say she hated the revival?
I agre PositiveEm. I think it is beautifully staged. It's hard ot get Patti out of your mind when you think about Evita. And I am a huge Patti fan.
Instead of competing with her, they went a different way and for me, and the audiences both times I've seen it, it really worked.
Christina Aguilera is gong to busy in early 2013 with a world tour for new album, Lotus, but if the show is around for another year, she could do a summer run. After Elena, we need someone to sing the sh!t out of these vocals.
Like I said, they missed their chance a long time ago. She was rumored to open this show with Ricky (even discussed it with Ricky). In fact, I can almost confirm she talked to producers and even sang. But The Voice wanted to do 2 seasons in a year, she wanted to do a new album and they couldn't give her a yes or no quick enough forcing her to pull out of the running.

I thought Christina DeCicco was awesome as Eva, with that said, this is a role that requires not only excellent acting but also excellent singing, diction and dancing.
Christina managed to do it all perfectly.

What star in their right mind would want to replace in this misguided clunker? It is playing to 75% capacity and is on TKTS every performance. Let Ricky do a pop tour, give Elena a role that is better suited to her talents and let this turd die a natural death.

I love that people are speculating on the future of the show when there isn't one. It's gone in January, when Ricky leaves, and that'll be it.

Thought it was going to be dead on December 30. Can't wait to see what goes into the Marquis!

Broadway doesn't deserve Elena Roger. I can't wait for her to return to London and dazzle us all over again as she did in Evita, Piaf and Passion.
bwayphreak: thank you so much! happy to hear it!
I still think they should try and get Enrique Iglesias to replace Ricky.

Didn't they make an announcement that they were looking at Enrique Inglesias and two other celebrities to replace Ricky Martin?
