No matter how many times I listen to Sunset Boulevard, I'm never ready for the changeover from the end of Greatest Star of All to  and Every Movie's a Circus (reprise)

Into the Woods :  right after the sweet & lovely "It Takes Two"  button  - I know its coming, but that SCREAM from Stay With Me gets me every time lol 

 

What's one that either haunts or surprises you!?

When I was a kid the Phantom overture frightened me so much, I turned off the tape and didn’t pick it back up again for weeks.

Both on the recordings, and the many times I’ve seen Les Miz in person - I always think I’m ready for the first big cannon shots...and I never am.

I've always been haunted by the violin motif which forms the transition between the rehearsal for Don Juan Triumphant and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" in Phantom.

I second the scream at the top of “Stay With Me” on the OBCR of Into the Woods. I’m getting a chill just thinking about it.

I also always jump when “Broadway” from the 2008 cast recording of Gypsy comes on. Lenora Nemetz cartoonishly shrieks, “Madame! Come back here! Come back here!”
