I would think that Eden and the others would sign a one year contract with the Broadway company.
The article can be found at http://www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=521963
Also, not to be too critical but in that photo of Eden as Elphaba does the costume not look to big and have a lot of green makeup around the collar. Thats a big surprize for a musical that cost over $10 million to produce.

I am really excited about this. I always figured that she would return to the role, and I am really glad that she is.
Can't wait!

Derrick is going to play Fiyero? Gah, what the hell?! He's a bad Fiyero in my opinion.
Hm, but Eden and Carol are good choices.

Whoa, Derrick is married? Sure fooled me...
Sorry, that was mean. Still didn't like him as Fiyero, though. Saw Carol Kane's understudy so don't know about her, and have only heard recordings of Eden, but I like what I've heard.
It would be great if Jenna took over for Michelle and for the Elphaba u/s, she was fantastic IMO.

does anyone know if shoshana, rue and derrick left by choice or the producers wanted a change. just curious. i remember rue saying that she was probably going to reup when her contract was up. for whatever reason that didn't happen.
and i really thought for some reason that they were going to ask ana to do broadway, i read that she wanted to do it and think her chicago contract is up in january.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 6:48pmShe's definitely one of my favorites, much better than Shoshana.

This is great! I don't think she's the best Elphaba ever, but she's got the voice, amazing vocals and most importantly: she understands the character. I feel that is the key to Elphaba.
GO EDEN!

This was already on the 2nd page and I'd rather people be able to see this than start another thread... so many to keep up with today! Sheesh

Posted: 11/28/05 at 11:37pmI think this worked out quite nicely. I really don't want to see Stephanie as Elphaba anymore. Give the woman something FABULOUS! ::coughFUNNYGIRLREVIVALPRETTYPLEASEcoughchokehackwheeze::

Posted: 11/28/05 at 11:54pmim seeing Stephanie on tour...-if she actually shows up-...is she good at all? i know she was very good as Liza in "the boy from oz" but someone who sings like Liza Minnelli as Elphaba??? anyone seen her?
#67re: Eden is the next Elphaba
Posted: 11/28/05 at 11:57pmShe has an extremely powerful take on Elphaba. Just because her voice is so powerful. I thought she was fantastic as Elphaba. Her take on her was very...mature, even from the start. And I guess that's just whether you think Elphaba should be a drastic or subtle change.
#68re: Eden is the next Elphaba
Posted: 11/28/05 at 11:59pmi read on here...that Stephanie is always out of the show...what is the matter with her? was she sick???

No need to be insulting. First of all, there is a whole thread about people missing performances that you should perhaps read over before you make snide comments like "if she actually shows up". Secondly, if you think you are going to hear someone who sounds like Liza playing Elphaba you are in for a surprise. She sounds like Stephanie playing Elphaba and it's a glorious thing. If she sounds like Liza to you in BFO, well...it's called ACTING, and yes...she does that well in WICKED too.

Posted: 11/29/05 at 12:04amhey calm down...i have never seen Stephanie...i heard her in the OBC of BFO and she sounded a lot like Liza...i am very excited to see her...and i can't talk about her...becuz i have never seen her live..EVER! so i am just asking questions. First i see them ....then i judge! so calm down.

Posted: 11/29/05 at 12:09amYou are all so lucky - Eden is absolutely the best Elphaba! :) I'm so fortunate to have seen her in San Francisco and believe me, if you haven't seen her, you're in for the hugest treat ever.

"does anyone know if shoshana, rue and derrick left by choice or the producers wanted a change. just curious. i remember rue saying that she was probably going to reup when her contract was up. for whatever reason that didn't happen. "
Well, Shoshana has stated for ages she was not going to re-sign after her contract extended. She wants to work on her music career.
I believe Rue was having some kind of health problem, which is why she isn't re-signing (I also remember the article where she said she was quite happy in the show, and would love to re-sign)

Muscle - I guess that's the problem with these message boards. Sometimes the words we choose don't translate as we mean them. I think you're being an ass and you think I'm all worked up.
Ok, giving you the benefit of the doubt... I am calmly answering you that yes she had a terrible accident during rehearsals and was performing injured for a long time. She took SF part of the tour off (doctor's orders I imagine)to heal properly and is now back in 8X/week. She HAS missed a few shows since returning to the tour. She's only human and the climate changes, hectic schedule, and traveling doesn't allow for much time to get better once you get ill.
I hope she's in when you go and you can make up your own mind about her.
