i'm excited.
YAY. I wonder how much tickets will be? Will they be like regular Broadway prices? Or does the Carlyle have special prices? Because I remember some of her engagements being pretty expensive there.
Eartha Kitt is $85 and $125 on weeknights; and $95 and 150 on weekends
Judy Collins is $125 or $175
Steve Tyrell goes between $95 to $185
so i am guessing it will be pricey.
I am flying in for this. I missed it on Broadway and I really don't want to miss out on seeing her this time.
I plan on seeing this as well. Why does it have to be so darn expensive though?
I want to go...but seriously why are tickets that expensive??
As you can tell from my avatar, I am a huge fan. However, depending on the prices, I don't know if I'll go. I did get to see the show during the Broadway run, so if the prices are steep (as they likely will be) I'll probably skip it. Also, keep in mind that sometimes the Carlyle requires that dinner be purchased along with the show. Don't know if that will be the case with Stritch, but you should check before making your purchase.
I'm flying in for this, too!!!!
AT LAST! To see Miss Stritch LIVE! And in AT LIBERTY!!! *faints*
Jesus, I don't know how anybody can afford to see anything anymore.

I am totally saving up for this...she is an amazing talent and I own the DVD...but there is something to be said to seeing her perform live...she's a legend...Dammit!
I just called the Carlyle.
The show will run Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1/1 to 1/19.
Tickets are $125 per person plus dinner. There is no dinner minimum, but some sort of dinner must be purchased.
Dinner times are 6:30pm or 7:00pm.
The performance begins at 8:00pm.
So with tax and tip (I can only imagine their menu prices are quite high), expect the evening to cost at least $175.
I saw this show in NY and
then on tour in Dallas. Got
the DVD and I watch it all
the time. If the Cafe Carlyle
doesn't have a "dinner required"
with this $125, I may try to
catch Stritch again. Love, love,
love this show!

Dinner is required.
You can sit at the bar instead of the table, and nurse an expensive drink or two. It's cheaper, and the view from the bar is perfect.
But however you slice it, an evening at the Carlyle is what Irving Berlin meant by "Slumming on Park Avenue."
For those who haven't been fortunate enough to see this show off-Broadway, on Broadway, at the West End, or on tour, I highly recommend it. It is far removed from what one would typically expect from a one-woman retrospective show. The information indicates that it will be the full At Liberty show, which means she'll be singing 15+ songs, five times a week, and she'll be a couple of weeks shy of her 83rd birthday.
My ass can't afford that..
I'll just watch my DVD.
Hopefully someday I can see her live.
So where can you buy tickets to this? Are they on sale yet?
Hopefully i can go on the second... because starting the third i will be out of the country for the rest of the run....
The link to the Carlyle entertainment page on their website is below. They don't list Stritch yet, but even for the listed chows, it doesn't seem like there is online ticketing. I suggest you call the number at the bottom of the webpage.

When I saw Betty Buckley at
the Cafe Carlyle, we just called
and made reservations. There are
no tickets per-say.

I'm sorry, I would love to see Stritch live but $125 plus dinner?! I'll just pop in my DVD and order Chinese.
A friend and I saw Stritch at the Carlyle back in January of 2006. With dinner and tip, our evening out was very close to $600. I thought it was worth every penny, plus I met Ms. Stritch briefly. I have to admit that I'm tempted to plan a trip to NYC in January just to see Stritch again.
