Have people been to this fantastic place?!
I will be working there soon! :)
I was there a couple of weeks ago! I love that place

Only tourists go there. Regular NYers aren't seen anywhere near the place.
no offense, but i find that place to be annoying... you cant enjoy your meal without someone singing in your face and sometimes really off key and clueless of the words. The last time I was there was 1 year ago and the waitress needed help with some "strongest suit" lyrics because she forgot the words. Im also not happy with Ellens stardust because I hear they are not so "equal" when it comes to hiring certain races.

Stardust used to be a great place before it turned into a giant tourist trap. They have killer cheesecake and Snickers pie, but now everything is so expensive... well you couldn't PAY me to go there.

I wish you well Seany....
I enjoyed it the three or four times I have been there. It is kitchy new york fun. I love it!
Yeah you couldn't pay me to go back either. It's nice to hear the waiters sing and all but both times i went I waited 25 minutes for a refill or some ketchup cuz they r to busy trying to do both.

I was just there with the wife and kids on Saturday. We had a great time.
The burgers were good, the desserts were terrific and the service was shockingly good considering all the other stuff going on.
It's a fun wacky place for supper. Our waitress sang "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" with another waiter.
For the 4 of us the bill was just under 80 bucks. Including nachos and dessert.
I left a really big tip.

...you left a really big tip?
Mine are usually "Wear White at Night"
"When crossing the street look both ways"
those are the great tips I leave people.

I usually avoid that street whenever I have the chance!
but if the darling little cherub known as seany will be working there, it will reduce the "Cringe factor" by a great amount.
Bravo Sean!

Speaking of food on the "strip" so to speak.
There is a good place (maybe a bit touristy) that is across of Colony records, I think? Or maybe aa block past. The TIMES SQUARE GRILL? Maybe? They have the best Mac and Cheese!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I want to MARRY IT. They are so much fun and my waiter was hot and he had a nice voice and I was like "Mmmm hmmm, honey, you know what I mean." Not really but he WAS hot. Holla back Ellens Stardust Diner!!! Yay.
OK, I've lived in New York City my entire life, and I really enjoy Ellen's Stardust Diner, so it's not just for tourists. Then again, that time I went was the first time I went. It was a little bit of a wait (genious that I am, I went on a Saturday night), but the food is really good, and I had fun with my friends. The one thing I don't like about that place is the amount of times they sing "Happy Birthday!" You know half of those people aren't really there for their birthday. They just say they are to embarrass their friends or get attention.
I wouldn't go there a lot, but it's a fun place to go with a bunch of friends once in a while.

I love Ellen's Stardust and I am a true-blue born & raised New Yorker. It can be really fun if you are not the type trying to be to above it all to have fun!
I try to get my family into the city often and this is a great refuge in the middle of the theatre district. Also, with every meal you get a piece of Bazooka bubble gum. What more do you want than a reasonable meal with entertainment & gum. Let's not be greedy.
Break a leg Seany!
ok then..for you "ellens" regulars, does anyone know if Natalie Joy Johnson still works there? I forget what name she went by for her waitress name but that girl COULD SING...she was in the tour of Godspell and she was the only reason to go there.
Hello Seany - Im so happy for you! I will be moving to New York soon to persue my performance career, and I was wondering if you could give me any advice on how much money to save before I go, how and what kind of living arrangements to make, and training and classes. Also, I've been to Ellen's many times, and have asked how to get a job there, and they told me just to come in and sing. I know how much it costs to live there, and I know how much servers make here and Dallas, and its scary... but I've noticed the great big tip jar everytime someone sings, and its always crowded, so since you're working there, could you give me an idea of about how much money someone makes working and singing there? Thank you, I really appreciate your help! And maybe we'll be working together soon! lol!
ive tried to go a few times but its always SO crowded. now that ive read about the poor service and bad singing im not so sure anymore...lol.

HAHA! a three year old post? Funny. It's a really fun place to take kids. the performers are actually kind of good.
To Box Office Jon
Broadway Diner has killer Mac & Cheese. Ellens is for tourists. Have not been in since Forbidden Broadway vacated the premises
Here's another born and raised New Yorker that LOVES Ellen's! Natalie Joy Johnson hasn't worked there in years but she used to be the reason my friends and I were regulars there. Her name there was Veronica and she would hang out with her customers when it was dead. She wasn't there long though because she started getting regular acting work.
The service is sometimes not the best, I'll admit. But that is usually when it is crazy busy and people decide to eat there an hour before they have to be at a show.
Break a leg, Seany!
I live in FL, but i go to NYC so often, i don't think i am a "tourist" when in NYC anymore, and i love this dinner. Definitly a fan place to go to after a show with friends. I just get frustrated when i see that im the only costumer with a playbill that doesn't say Wicked!

I've been there and the food and service was bad and expensive, but you get a free show along with dinner so i liked it.
