Emma Stone's replacement

Any idea of who will be the next Sally in Cabaret?
#3

Emma Stone's replacement

I'm very curious. I'm sure they'll go with a "big" name.
#4

Emma Stone's replacement

Definitely a big name, you're right... Wonder when Anna Kendrick may return to Broadway, now that she's a household name?
#5

Emma Stone's replacement

^And she already knows co-director/Choreographer Rob Marshall...

Emma Stone's replacement

I would love love love Anna to be in this!!!!!
#7

Emma Stone's replacement

Emma could always just extend through March, when I assume the show is closing up shop?
#8

Emma Stone's replacement

Bring back Brooke Shields! NOT!

Emma Stone's replacement

Wouldn't the show just close? Anna Kendrick has done nothing but distance herself from musicals during the press rounds for THE LAST 5 YEARS and the early press for INTO THE WOODS. In fact, she recently told Playbill.com that the role that would get her back to Broadway is...Henrik in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Not to mention she's all kinds of wrong for Sally.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

"Wouldn't the show just close?"

The show is scheduled to run through March. Emma is running through early February.

Emma Stone's replacement

I wonder if the show will tour.
If so I wonder who would lead the cast as Sally and the emcee.
#13

Emma Stone's replacement

I know she's most probably too old, but Toni Collette would be amazing.

"I wonder if the show will tour."

Hard to say, since it technically already did.

Emma Stone's replacement

Kendrick, not a good fit, no.

Emma Stone's replacement

Maybe Anne Hathaway???
#17

Emma Stone's replacement

I doubt Anne would ever be a replacement, but she does have the average voice needed for the part.

um, how exactly would that be possible?
#19

Emma Stone's replacement

Well, after two back to back musical movies, she could be saying she is looking for roles in different genres in the near term?

Emma Stone's replacement

I think Anna is very talented, but I do not think that Sally fits her all too well. If she could sing, Jennifer Lawrence would be fantastic! Other than that, they'll probably try and find some hot young actress. I think Kirsten Dunst would be interesting, but I'm not sure how big of a draw she would be.

Emma Stone's replacement

I've convinced myself that The Real Thing is one way Roundabout is preparing Maggie Gyllenhaal for the role. I think she'd be excellent.
#22

Emma Stone's replacement

Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary from Downton Abbey). Her voice, though light, is appropriately low pitched, which isn't the case for most modern day Sallys.

Emma Stone's replacement

I've been hoping they'd go with Carey Mulligan for a while now.

Emma Stone's replacement

The next replacement will most likely not be quite so A-list as Stone. I can easily seeing it be one of the Downton ladies. They're known but you still have to say "Jessica Brown Findlay...she played Lady Sybil."
