At one point, it was announced that Emma Thompson was being considered to write the Annie movie. Does anyone know why that didn't happen? Is there an Annie script cooling in Emma's safe deposit box?

Posted: 12/12/14 at 7:40pmIn my heart of hearts, I believe that once Emma mailed the finished script, Meryl Streep intercepted it and changed all the references from "Little Orphan Annie" to "Little Orphan's Fanny". Nobody is getting in the way of Meryl's Musical Oscar. Nobody!

I actually have in my collection of screenplay's Emma Thompson's original draft for the film that was revised by Aline Brosh McKenna. Some interesting things in it.
If anyone would like to read it, you can PM me. The script is dated October 19, 2012.
