PIPE DREAM has always held a special place in my heart. I saw a college production in Vermont about 30 years ago. My only gripe with the Encores! presentation was the lack of the complete Overture. Nevertheless, I'm very excited about this recording.

I can't wait to hear "Sweet Thursday" not sung like a Wagnerian cakewalk. Nothing against Helen Traubel, though. I can't wait for this recording.

The closer this gets, the more excited I get. I'm really keen to have a new recording of this score. I've got a feeling that I'm generally in for a Steinbeck phase soon.
