I hope they're right for some of those!

I agree with all of them except their predictions for Best Play (Frost/Nixon???), Orchestrations, and Choreography.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

i thought those predictions were pretty spot on

im still really unsure about Choreography, though.

Most of those are very solid predictions, but EW has got the hots for Spring Awakening, so they're very biased.

I am not agreeing with the choreography. I am sorry Bill T. Jones, touching yourself and stomping is not Tony worthy.

EDIT: I don't think Spring Awakening will bet getting it for orchestrations.

His choreography was fine and fit the material, or at least Michael Mayer's vision. But, I can't really say I was wowed by it. Any of the three other nominees are more worthy than Jones.

Not bad. Not bad.

If Gardens can rack up 4-5 awards and not Best Musical, I'll still be happy.

They're pretty close, IMO.
I think Pittu might top Gallagher, though. Also-I think orchestrations may go to Tunick or Coughlin.
In addition, I don't see Frost/Nixon topping COU. It's such a monumental undertaking that seems unstoppable. And I see Ehle beating Plimpton.

I highly doubt that Spring Awakening will get choreography, but I do hope that they at least get Best Musical, Best Featured Actor, and Best Music and Lyrics.

Who do you think should win for choreography? I know everyone made a huge deal over Spring Awakening's choreography, but who knows if that includes Tony voters.

I think Mary Poppins could win for Choreography.

Other than Best Leading Actress in a Musical, I agree with their picks. Way to go EW!

Best Orchestrations usually go hand-in-hand with Best Original Score, and this one's no exception.

Uh, somebody should inform them that since 1999, only twice has a show won both Best Orchestrations and Best Score (Producers in 2001 and Piazza in 2005), and only 4 times since the award was first introduced in 1997 (the ones I said before plus Titanic in 1997 and Ragtime in 1998!). That's 4 out of 10. It's not all that common.

Oh, and Bill T. Jones will not be winning a Tony this year. Jerry Mitchell or Matthew Bourne will.

Princeton, who do you think should win Best Leading Actress? I think Christine is a dead lock, and deserves it completely.

I think Christine is such a sure lock that she isn't...if that makes any sense.

i hope most of these are spot on

but as much as i want frost/nixon to do well, there are so much that you can say about COU, but EW made a point on frost/nixon being that nice one act play, that is highly entertaining

choreography, i agree with becoz, anyone can touch themselves and stomp,

It's funny, EW contradicts itself completely. They say that many road voters might not have had time to see all 3 Utopia installments, but yet they say that Martha Plimpton will win because she has the juiciest part in Salvage and so is the most fresh in the voters' minds. But if they didn't see all 3 parts, which is the argument for Frost/Nixon winning, then Jennifer Ehle from part 2 will be the most fresh in their minds.

They seem 90% accurate. Hopefully.

pretty much think they got it, except i think Coast of Utopia is a dead lock and win and that mary louise wilson might not win, I think it's possible to see Charlotte win, not for her performance but rather for her career and continued support from the broadway community as the go to girl/gypsy or Orfeh and choreography could really go to any nominee in that category
