Yes, I did, and yes, I can.
In answer to your forthcoming follow-up question, no, I won't.
Afraid it will spoil the plot? Does it have any lines? LOL
Well, how do you think he stabs the horses in the eyes?
The advance should get much larger once the NAMBLA newsletter features it as a front stage story.
I know that Daniel Radcliffe is 19. I just find it wrong that someone who plays a 15 year old in movies is going to be baring all on stage. Nothing wrong with nudity on stage- but this comes dangerously close to pedophilia.
NO. Please go back to your dictionary to see what pedophilia actually is. An actor playing a role in a production is NOT pedophilia. An adult being sexually attracted to a child is pedophilia. Radcliffe is short but he is not a child, nor is he childlike. Pedophilia is a pretty strong word that should not be thrown around lightly or incorrectly.
(Hang on, I think I've said this to 'Spring Awakening' haters recently as well...)

Wow. You have "baby" in your name so you must be child. I never pay any attention to the silly things children say.
"Patash, you may be right on the whole. But for people who would go to see this show, I think they know who he is along with most kids and teenagers in this country."
Well, now I think we've come full circle in this discussion. The whole point of discussion of more UK people knowing who Daniel Radcliffe is as opposed to Americans was in relation to ticket sales. So of course you are right -- but wasn't that the point(?) -- that ticket sales may not be as high as expected because the name Daniel Radcliffe might not be as WELL KNOWN here as in the UK?
Sure most of those buying tickets and going know him, but if MORE people knew him here, perhaps more tickets would be getting grabbed up.
Thank you Weez for posting such an intelligent and articulate response to the "paedophilia" comment.
I saw this in an auditorium where a high percentage of the audience were teenagers (of school-going age) and the response, on the whole, was very mature.

The powers-that-be are very happy with the advance sales. It's only a 22-week run.

Especially when you compare it with something like In Celebration with Orlando Bloom whose audience was of a similar demographic. :)

The economy's also crap. The outisde NY metro area target audience (HP fans, mostly) are probably not traveling/spending less on entertainment.
are scalpers already trying to sell tickets online?
There are some tickets on Ebay -- "buy it now" prices of $349 for two tickets. There are also some bids going. One other ad is for two individual tickets for a price of $199. While the ads often say what row they are in, they rarely specify if they might even be against the wall.
Stub Hub has quite a few listings. My favorites are for row P "starting at $412 each". YIKES!

That's ridiculous. I purchased mine at the box office the day it openened two weeks ago and got front row seats: 117 per ticket. There were only 1/2 dozen folks in front of me on line. Pre-sale for AmEx had been on for several weeks (maybe more)
Anyone paying those prices at this time are idiots. (I think they'd be idiots to pay that even if they were the last tickets available for the show....but that's just me.)
I can't believe that people would pay close to 400 for a ticket. But, considering the fact that there are tourists who know that Broadway is expensive but don't know how much a regular full price ticket is. It doesn't shock me that there are people out there who would pay those prices or even pay premium price for tickets because they know broadway is expensive.
It frightens me that people might START their ticket search on ebay to buy tickets instead of hitting the source initially. It's not that hard to check telecharge!
I know there are gads of folks that have money to burn, it just pains me to THROW money away when it could be used is so many better ways than ONE b'way show. (You could see FOUR B'way shows!)
{puts soapbox away}
I don't know if people outside the NY area know Telecharge... In Chicago for example ALL tickets are bought through Ticketmaster, thus people assume that if Ticketmsater doesn't have it, Ebay is the only other place.
I would HOPE that most folks aren't THAT stupid.
I can understand why people would automatically assume that ticketmaster has tickets for everything. Because it pretty much does. Almost all events out are on ticketmaster. So, ticket buyers become convinced that the show that they want isn't for sale when they don't see it there. Thus having to result in other ways of getting the ticket, like stubhub and ebay. There aren't really a lot of people out there who know what telecharge is. I remember hearing a woman talk at the intermission of South Pacific about how she always swears by Broadway.com when buying her tickets, because she doesn't know what to do when they aren't on ticketmaster. Also, she expects to be paying a lot because she knows Broadway is expensive. What she doesn't know is that she could be saving herself a lot of money if she bought tickets directly from ticketmaster.
I understand that Broadway.com is very over the top when it comes to service fees. And, I understand that telecharge does nickel and dime you with high service fees (worse then ticketmaster). But, am I the only one who would think it would be a smarter move to go with telecharge then Broadway.com?
Um... I didn't know what Telecharge was until I couldn't find Spring Awakening tickets on ticketmster.
i went online the other day and got two seats in Orch row B on the aisle. seemed odd to me they are already releasing seats for the first weekend...
...Why? Am I missing something?
