Anyone with money get put a show on Broadway.  Granted, a LOT of money, but still.   And just because it's "there" doesn't mean people can't voice their opinions.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I too feel bad for the actors and crew, and frankly am anything but thrilled that a theatre is now freed up for something more .... whatever you would call it. I would call it ghastly.

At least aslong as Margaritaville was there, we were spared the possibility of another music-barren dirgicalor screed moving in to make bothour theatre and our lives miserable.

Should that grim prospect come to pass, we couldbe pining to have Margaritaville back there in very short order.

Let's hope Summer andSponge Bob can continue to hold on to their theatresfor a very long time.

God, you're insufferable! While I'm here, I am going to heed the advice of my fellow posters in not feeding the troll.

That is the worlds biggest problem, everyone has an opinion.

My favorite part of all of this is they are closing on July 1... and doing a promotional event on July 4.

Just watched their performance. Curious what the cast got paid. A full week? Rehearsal pay? It was clearly planned and the cast would've flown down today and back tomorrow morning. Noticed Rema Webb wasn't there.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

They have been there since Monday. I follow a few of them on Twitter and IG.

There is a tour coming up that was being promoted.

Tour isn't until Oct. 2019.

^I don't believe I heard them mention a tour, but they definitely emphasized that is was a Broadway show and showed the marquee of the Marquis.

So I guess the question is "Which will premiere first? The tour or a cruise ship production? (NCL has a longstanding agreement with JB and features Margaritaville-themed bars and events)

My ongoing question: how will this show do in licensing to regionals and amateurs? Seems like it could become a "summertime" event show for many theatres in locations amenable to the Parrothead community.

On the show's website there is a banner that says final performance July first. National tour kicking off some point next year (I forgot the exact date it mentioned.) The thing is I wonder. Is this actually going to tour? I mean, we all know that there are plenty of shows that close that announce a tour but, when all is said and done never actually tour.

That is the worlds biggest problem, everyone has an opinion.

"

Firstly, the worlds problems don’t stem from everyone having an opinion, the problems are born from people believing that their own opinion is the right one - there is a difference.

Secondly, what Dramaman611 said was not his opinion, it was fact - again there is a difference. Anyone, can produce a show on Broadway, if they have enough money. You cannot call something deserving of Broadway simply because it’s there, unless you want to separate dramaman611’s fact ‘anyone with money can do a show’ from your opinion ‘I think these are shows are deserving because...’

Jimmy said that they just closed on Broadway and mentioned they are coming to a city near you.

I think this would actually do well on the road, especially in Florida, New Orleans, Texas, the Carolinas where a lot of Parrotheads reside.
