This'll probably be a sh*tfest, but I hope they cast Ben Platt and Eva Noblezada.

Bring back Renee as Mimi but have the original cast members appear as the parents, even though Renee is the same age as most of the original cast?

These insane dream casting threads, which have no basis in reality, for the next 1.5 years will be the death of me (much to the delight of some on here, I'm sure).
Guys... we're a little less than a year and a half away from this. Can we tone it down for awhile???

Not even for a while, just cut it out completely. We already have a film version in which almost everyone is (and more importantly looks) way too old for their roles, there is no reason to insist on more of the same. The screen is not as forgiving as the stage. Age matters more here. If you are going to insist on dream casting this until it airs, why not think like a director rather than a fanboy?

Renee is in her 40s and Mimi is supposed to be 19. It may have worked on the stage but on TV? To me Ben is the only obvious choice, but I'd love Rachel Bloom as Maureen and Amber Riley as Joanne.
