Well they better hurry. My guess would be they'll shoot for closing night. They have to get this show filmed for once. It's a shame they never got the original. Don't make the same mistake.
Let's make sure they don't make the same mistake. I'm only half-serious in saying this, but let's petition the Widow Goldman to let them use the original book for filming.

If you press the "SHARE" button it simply posts it on your wall... but it might be more effective to copy and paste it onto your wall because then you can TAG your friends in the post so they're sure to see it.....
just a thought... we really need to make this viral.
Like it on Facebook all you want, but it's not going to be filmed if no one will front the money. Maybe use your energy working on that instead of expecting someone else to do the hard part.

Why do we have Company but no Follies? Get this filmed for heavens sake!
A New York woman funded the filming of the 2006 Broadway revival of COMPANY. THAT is why that was filmed.
Again I have to repeat this but PBS does NOT film anything. They are publicly funded and do NOT have the means to 'film' anything, especially a Broadway show.
Others film these productions and negotiate with PBS, who in turn airs them as part of their Great Performances series. Also, PBS does NOT film any of the shows that are done at Lincoln Center -- the Lincoln Center does this themselves AND fully own the rights to them (not PBS), which is why they only air a few times and rarely are ever released on home video/DVD.
You want FOLLIES filmed? You fund the filming or start collecting funds to have this done. Once you collect enough to cover all the costs of filming this, plus the Actor's Equity fees, the actor's fee's, the musician's fees, the permits to film on rented property plus the fee's to allow production trucks parked for extended periods on public New York City streets, then I'm sure we'll see your film of the 2011 Broadway revival of FOLLIES.
Till then -- SHUT THE F**K UP and ENOUGH with your pointless petitions! Money makes things happen, not bitching and begging and wishful thinking.

Are the people who have the money to film a show entirely insensitive to the potential demand for the product? While I seriously doubt any show ever has been or ever will be filmed as a result of a Facebook petition, I don't think it's totally irrational to find a way to publicly express your desire for one.
If you can get Betty White to endorse the filming, then it's sure to happen. Remind me to start that Facebook page to get me $10M. If you "like" it, they will come.
