That's inspired casting, that really is. Why didn't they just get her in the first place. She would've been a Tony contender for sure.
Love Faith Prince. But I seem to remember vocal problems on A Catered Affair? Or was that just the Tony performance?
Was hoping for Beth Leavel.

Vocal problems? Faith was magnificent as Aggie. An extraordinary performance...
This is inspired. If true, I am moving into the Palace.
While I'm sure she'll be terrific, if they weren't going for a box office draw, I would have preferred Harriet Harris. THAT would have gotten me to the Palace.
I'm guessing she'll start right after Lynch leaves, likely on July 16. I wonder if they're exploring any kind of "names" to join the show come September. I just don't see the show making money come the fall.
Great casting. Hope it's true. And since Lynch is departing less than a month from now, I'm sure a deal with any replacement is in the works right now.

This is exciting! Faith Prince will be perfect!! Im glad they didn't settle for some reality or tv star just to have a name. The show stands on its own name and clearly audiences have been coming to see the show seeing they have never been in the negative... Good for you Annie Producers! The only dip this show will have is probably in september early october... once the holidays hit they will clean up since its a christmas show.
For those of you who havent seen Jane Lynch... she's definitely worth it... if you couldnt tell from that tony performance. She's fantastic!
^ yes! I'd also like to see Jinkx do Hedwig.
She will never take the place of Dotty Loudon.
She doesn't have to. Prince is a true old-fashioned comedienne, she'll be great.

If I recall correctly, Prince was rumored for Hannigan even before initial casting was announced. And again, if I remember correctly, most people were very disappointed with the choice. Now everyone's excited...
Personally I think she will do a fine job. I predict the revival to close very soon after her arrival though, if this turns out to be true; a la Jessie Mueller in 'Nice Work'.
Prince closed Little Mermaid and now she'll close Annie. She seems to always be the last person called. Sad.
They better stunt-cast for Grace or something if this is true.

Faith was also a Kick ass Mrs. Wilkinson on tour.
Can we stop posting rumors and just wait until the official word is out?

Big fan from Guys & Dolls, NOT a fan of her in Little Mermaid. Ugh.

I heard Neil Patrick Harris was the next Hannigan.

Jinkx just did a run of Hedwig in Seattle this past winter and it was amazing! This weekend, she's playing Velma Von Tussle in a production of Hairspray before heading out to NYC to do her off-broadway show, The Vaudevillians.
Other dream Jinkx casting: Ursula in the Little Mermaid, and The Witch in Into the Woods.

I'm moving in.
Even though she was announced as the replacement, do you think there will be a Annie replacement soon? According to Lilla's Broadway.com video blog, she's been auditioning for a show (it seems like Peter Pan) where she sung "I'm Flying" and did a flying session at her auditions. Unless, a closing notice has already been discussed with the cast and crew and she's possibly trying to get her next role?
