Fast lunch in TS area?

Headed up to NYC first weekend in August, arrive Penn Station around 11am. As we will likely be playing the lottery/TKTS game that day, we may be in need of a really quick lunch (think sandwich/pizza, etc) in time to make a Saturday matinee (either 1 or 2pm). Not exactly sure if we'll be at the hotel on 44th and 8th or the TKTS booth on 47th around noon. Any suggestions on where we can grab a very quick but decent bite within a couple of blocks of that area?

Normally I would head up to Hells Kitchen for a relaxed sit-down lunch somewhere, but probably no time for that. A couple of slices and a drink would be just fine. Maybe Carve on 47th and 8th?

Shake Shack on 44th/8th or Schnipper’s on 41st/8th.

Thank you. Believe it or not, Shake Shack is the one place that I was already familiar with, having eaten there on our last visit. Not bad for a fast food burger joint. I will keep Schnippers in mind, thanks.

Los Tacos no 1 is a good quick spot on 43rd and 8th. A little hectic and you’ll stand and eat. But delicious

Thank you. I had forgotten all about this option. I had previously seen several people on this board recommend Los Tacos 1 as well, so it sounds like it's a popular place. I don't care about hectic, or standing--fast and good are exactly the things I'm going to be looking for!

We recently grabbed lunch at the new Gordon Ramsey fish and chips on 44th right off Broadway. Though a tad pricey, it was quiet and quick and we both enjoyed our meals.

Los Tacos on 43rd st is very good and quick (the line goes fast) but no seating. There's also Friedman's on 47th that's pretty quick

I've eaten a couple times at China River restaurant right beside the St James on 44th. Service & food was quick for lunch. The last time I was there it seemed to be a choice of the NYPD's finest as well. The wait at Shake Shack was longer to get something to go.

And another +1. Just ate there for the first time this past weekend and was presently surprised. On Los Tacos No. 1,  it’s very good, but it can also get very crowded.

For a quick, cheap and delicious lunch you can't go wrong with Westway Diner (9th Ave between 43/44th).

Either location of Junior's - on Broadway, or at Shubert Alley.  You can sit at the bar.  Great food, great prices and a great location for getting to the theatre.

If it’s a small group, the counter at Junior’s is pretty fast. I usually do that on my solo day trips between shows.
