This is exactly what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

Theatre people with a background in epidemiology must be pretty unusual so maybe my guess is as good as any of the others: Or maybe not . But epidemiology is what it all comes down to so I say 18 months from today things should be about 80 percent back to normal. That's early summer 2022. Before then mostly stunt openings and sacrificial lamb openings but in a good cause. I do believe more than enough people globally will eventually take the vaccine with Pfizer and Moderna the big winners - especially if they work as well as available evidence would currently show.
>Gird yourselves for the deluge of protests and lawsuits against organizations and employers requiring people to get vaccinated.
Well employers kind of can't mandate someone get a vaccine for an airborne illness. It's going to be just like any other hospital if someone doesn't get the flu shot. You're just going to be required to wear a mask which we're all doing anyway, but in work settings you'll be doing so longer than the rest...
It's interesting to see how many people on this thread are skeptics. Although COVID-19 was new, this specific vaccine (the use of RNA) came about in 2012 when MERS hit. MERS is another SARS virus, so this was an easy transition. I believe Moderna was actually trying to get this vaccine out for years, but didn't really have the funding / need.

I read an article earlier today that said employers will be able to mandate it. Tried to find it but can't.
Edit: not the article I read but it says the same thing. Seems there are some exceptions.
