SOMETHING WONDERFUL from The King And I.
Followed by THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and ALL THAT JAZZ.

"I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face" from My Fair Lady
I can't explain it, but I just adore this song. It kind of encompasses how inexplicable love can be.
And I think "Nobody Needs To Know" (The Last 5 Years) is up there too. It makes me want to cry for him and strangle him at the same time. And those dissonent chords starting at "blow it apart" and ending at "and what can I do?" own my LIFE.
"Not a Day Goes By" from Merrily We Roll Along
My top three are
"One Day More"-Les Miz
"La Vie Boheme"-Rent
and "The Impossible Dream"-Man of La Mancha
don't make me decide! i cant!!
"one day more" has always bbeen a favorite.
"I think it was the Korean tour or something. They were all frickin' asian!" -Zoran912
I can't/refuse to pick just one, so I'll do five.
"Will I?" - from Rent.
"Father to Son" - Falsettos
"Need to Know" - Weird Romance
"Fathers & Sons" - Working
"The Schmuel Song" - The Last 5 Years

Just one? Ummmmm, OK........ Let's try...
"On the Steps of the Palace" from Into the Woods
But it changes every day and with every mood.

One?!? What? Gahhhhhh. Well, even though this is sort of off-Broadway, I say Nobody Needs to Know from L5Y. It's so beautiful...
There are SO many, and like everyone else, I have to pick more than one:
1)Losing My Mind from Follies
2)Pity the Child from Chess
3) I Chose Right from Baby

Pick just one? Oy. that's too tough. I'll pick a few...errr... a handful.
Heaven on Their Minds - JCS
One Day More - Les Miz
All I Ask of You - Phantom
Seasons of Love - RENT
Why - Tick Tick Boom
All That Jazz - Chicago
Light of the World - Godspell
I'd have to agree with "Something Wonderful" from The King and I
However, the song I could probably listen to over and over without getting bored is "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray.
I have to be unoriginal here and say On my Own from Les Mis!
La Vie Boheme-Rent

It changes. For a while, it was Magic to Do from pippin (but Pippin was my first ever musical, so...)
Then it was from ACL, and then "For Good" from Wicked.
And then it was "Purpose" from Avenue Q, and then "Louder than Words" from TTB. And then I'll Cover You from RENT, and at the moment it's the Happy New Year sequence from RENT.
