Agreed GoSmile. I've also always loved "How Lucky Can You Get" from the same show

I prefer the original performers' version of that song.
Luvcaroline,
I hope you do get to see a production of the show one day. If you do, you are in for a treat!

I have several. Everyone loves songs like "All That Jazz" and the stuff from "Cabaret". I find the irony of "Class" incisive and funny. And of course, "New York, New York".
A couple of my favorites are "Yes" and "First You Dream".

A QUIET THING from Flora, the Red Menace...and Liza sang it so beautifully at Carnegie Hall!

Both have been said before, but "Sing Happy" and "Yes" top my list. The way that both songs transform themselves from the first to final note are genius and moving.

MY OWN BEST FRIEND...from CHICAGO
Many's the guy
Who told me he cares
But they were scratchin' my back
'Cause I was scratchin' theirs
but seriously from CABARET
MAYBE THIS TIME...to me the greatest LIZA song she has ever sung...2nd place to
BUT THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND from NEW YORK NEW YORK:
And sometimes a friend starts treating you bad
But the world goes 'round
sorry i forgot A QUIET THING from Flora the Red Menace...although i love Barbra's version a lot i truly truly love LIZA singing this song in her younger voice

The whole score of Cabaret is an absolute masterpiece, but "What Would You Do?" is such a beautifully heartbreaking song.

Classics from their early years that bear repeating: A Quiet Thing, and My Coloring Book.
But a favorite song no-one has mentioned from THE RINK: All the Children in a Row. Perfect story telling wedded to a lovely melody. The best of the best.

I feel like "My Own Best Friend" from Chicago is criminally underrated!

Semi-unrelated, but how many of you guys caught the Takarazuka production of Chicago at Lincoln Center this summer? The way they staged the courtroom scene was so fresh and smart. And that Mary Sunshine...DAYUM did he have a range.
Anyway, my favorite Kander and Ebb songs are "Razzle Dazzle," "Love and Love Alone," and of course- "New York New York."

What Would You Do?, which is on a short list of the most powerful songs in all musical theatre.
Life Is, Wilkommen, Only Love, My Coloring Book, Dear One...I haven't always loved the shows, but I very rarely don't love their scores.

I can't really hum any melodies from "The Visit," but the whole show hands in my mind like a beautiful fever dream, and I hear the tuneless melodies of the two maimed eunuchs constantly bouncing around my head.
