Favorite Unsuccessful Musicals

listening to broadwayworld.com radio right now made me want to pose this question.

What are some of your favorite unsuccessful musicals?

Requirements - either critically received or length the show lasts, etc. stuff like that.

My favorites:

PARADE

FLOYD COLLINS

VIOLET

THE WILD PARTY (let's say both Lachiusa and Lippa though i prefer the OBC)

ANYONE CAN WHISTLE
it's interesting to include Sondheim musicals in this category..

JOHN & JEN

SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS (needs to be re-worked.)

BY JEEVES (B-way)

CATS (I just wish more people here liked it)

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (the 2000 revival)

SHERRY!

CARRIE (I think it could work on B-way now...it's better than WICKED....) But, I say that about everything....

PUTTING IT TOGETHER (should have ran longer. It was great.)

THE EDVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER (I want a CD.) "To Hear You Say My Name"... *cries*...

SEUSSICAL
RAGTIME
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

just because a lot of people here dont like cats doesnt mean its not succesful, i mean it is one of the most succesful shows of all time! and didnt some critics like it? not that i dont see your frustration catsny, it is hard to like a show that others are constantly bashing, as a fan of wicked, i should know (wink wink) haha.

o, and i liked seussical too, it was fun re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Favorite Unsuccessful Musicals
