Sondheim, "There's Always a Woman" -from Anyone Can Whistle, has hilarious lyrics. Might be tough finding the music though. I have the original score and its not in there, I believe it was cut.

I posted something a while back too about this and got some responses. Can't remember them all now, but you can search. Someone suggested looking at the Alice Ripley/Emily Skinner duet CDS. They have some great songs.

"Marry the Man Today"--Guys and Dolls
"The Apple Doesn't Fall"--The Rink
"The Grass is Always Greener"--Woman of the Year

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

LOL! The suggestions in this thread are really hilarious especially since the OP asked for songs that were "happy / funny / easy-to-listen-to songs..." and there's everything from Sondheim, Brecht, Weill and CARRIE to obscure Kander & Ebb flops and "Tell Him" by Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, possibly the worst song ever written. Just an observation, LOL.

The "Bosom Buddies" and the GREASE, GUYS & DOLLS and GYPSY selections are more like it.

To answer the OP, look through all the old RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN music books at your local library. I can think of fifteen or twenty off the top of my head. Stephen Schwartz has written quite a few female duets and such things and someone mentioned "When You Believe" which may be a nice song for you.

I was the one who suggested checking the song lists of the Skinner and Ripley CDs. Some examples:

I Know Him So Well
Ohio
If Momma Was Married
Perfect Strangers (from "Drood")
Friendship (not specifically for women, but Lucy and Ethel made it work)

Someone already said it - "What You Don't Know About Women" from City of Angels. Very smart lyrics and lots of fun.
