Its not about the trend, its about the quality of the interpretations (which have IMO gone down).

I could see Bernie in the Hawn role and personally find Sherie too young for it.

Gleason would be great in Keaton's part.

Bette's part is most likely too tough to cast... (i.e she should reprise it)

But this, when you see the film, just has musical splashed across it. I just hope they get the rights to "You Dont Own Me"

I dont get why Elise would be african american for.

Maggie Smith and Victor Garver reprising their role would be heavenly

Does ANYbody else miss musicals not based on movies? Yuck, I'm sick of this trend.

Technically this could be considered based on a book. Actually, I would love it if it was more like the book. Brenda (the Midler role) would become a lesbian then!

They have got to have You Don't Own Me in it. Easily the best part of the movie.
