Wow, a total departure from Wiest's look in the film for Helen, which was somewhere between Madame Arcati and Norma Desmond.
Perhaps that's a wise move to distance themselves a bit from the film.
Marin looks more like Rita Hayworth in Gilda.

@ RW3: And yet you strangely have a strange feeling that REBECCA will be coming to Broadway in the next year but strangely are not excited about this. It's all rather strange.

I'm looking forward to the show and it's a wonderful picture. But I sure wish it had an original score instead of using old standards. I'm real curious to see how they pull it off. Granted Allen incorporates old chestnuts as instrumental background music in his films (best example "Manhattan") but this is a stage work where a musical score is usually tailored towards character development. It should be interesting.

I love the songs Allen picks in his films, particularly something like Radio Days or the film of Bullets. He knows how music and lyrics drive the story and comment on it, and he is a walking catalog of old 20s and 30s jazz recordings. I imagine his choices will be excellent.

I'm positive these aren't the actual costumes (or hair and makeup) for the actual show. These is just a group cast photo where they are styled with a 1920s retro vibe (and somewhat in character) for a magazine shoot.

I should add that I hope you're right because these costumes don't seem to come from any one era. Marin looks 1940s (like Rita Hayworth), while others look 20s or 30s. Even the tuxes aren't from any defined era.

William Ivey Long is too creative a costume designer to dress his cast in evening wear unless the scene calls for it.

CarlosAlberto, The only reasons why I'm not excited(at the moment) for Bullets over Broadway because I know absolutely NOTHING about the show. Also, the reason why I hope Rebecca comes to Broadway in the fall is because I have followed the show ever since it was announced and through all the crap that has gone on since then and I would just love to see a show that has gone through what it has gone through and be successful.
