Now, I know a lot of people here don't want to hear about another Wicked post, but I'm attempting to start one. Please be nice and if you think this is stupid, simply don't bother answering. Ok, now I know that there are some people who are not fans of the Fiyeros seen in Wicked(even though I love them all), so who do you think would make a great one? Thanks!

Because the music (DTL specifically) was written for Norbert, its hard to find a good replacement who can reach his level of singing. Plus the role is very underwritten, not allowing for anyone to bring much susbstance to it. Most people have their favorites but the general consensus is that there has not been a universally liked Fiyero since Norbert left (and even then people had issues about his age, etc)
They warned you not to be rude, and for those that want to read this stop being a smart ass.
I've seen three different Fiyeros in the several times I saw the show.
Norbert: He was very sarcastic, it worked at times, others he made fun of the character.
David Ayers: He's great. I know people don't thnk he has a good voice, but I guess there IS a reason he's there and you're at home on bww.com!
Jered Bortz: He was good as well, very two dimensional. He made an odd cound but it was nice.

"defy gravity ~ be popular ~ be wicked"
HOW STUPID AND CORNY.
David--Ok..my least favorite..but not bad
Derrick--LOVE, but mainly because he exudes sexiness and is the sweetest person EVER at the stage door...
Kris--Best singer of the three, is a great Fiyero..my favorite.

"Norbert has been the only good one so far. "
I think Norbert was horribly miscast. He's not even attractive.
I know it may have taken a little bit of time, but i thought that Joey was awesome once he felt comfortablte up there! on Jan. 9th, which was the 2nd time i saw him in that role, he really blew me away (and for anyone who was there, his entrance was one i'll never forget!)
I thought Joey did pretty well because Fyiero is kind of like a rock star hottie to some of the other characters...i think he used some of his experiences.
I saw David Ayers most recently and was really embarassed for the rest of the cast. He was the only one that wasn't contributing anything to the show and was struggling to keep up with the other, more talented, cast members.
my sentiments, exactly, 442.
I could see Justin Timberlake, but only if he plays the character, and not himself on stage. i.e -no riffing.

you can completely disagree with me and that's fine, but what do you think about Matthew Morrison in that role, even though i highly doubt seeing him the show. he has a great voice!
I saw Derrick, David, and Jerad. Derrick was far and away my favourite :) In the book, Fiyero is dark-skinned, so every white Fiyero has had to work extra hard to win me over, lol. In David's case, it was spending half of DTL helpless with laughter. Bless the boy
The only one I've seen is Norbert, so I can't really compare him to anything, but he was amazing as always (even though the part was very underwritten for his talents).
"I think Norbert was horribly miscast. He's not even attractive." -I can't even describe how upset that made me when I read that... I mean, you're entitled to your own opinion, but look at him! He's extreamly attractive (in my opinion)!
And whateverman- you're comment to wickedgeek was really inappropriate.
i'd make a kick ass fiyero but i can't audition 'til after college.

i thought david was very good. he looked the part, sang and acted the part-to me.
i thought Derrick was horrible. he looked the part, but i thought his acting was weak, and had poor comedic timing. but was a good dancer, and singer, but i'm not sure that he is right for the part.

Kristoffer is the best I've seen/heard, he has the looks, the acting, and the voice.
I have see David and Derrick and David was not that great. Derrick absolutely blew me away. He is very suave and brings a different side to Fiyero that is refreshing.

Okay, you're entitled to your own opinion, but, have you actually seen him as Fiyero? I'm not one of these crazy Wicked fans, I saw it on a field trip in 8th grade with the OBCR. Norb is my favorite actor due to L5Y and DRS, but come on. You can't judge an actor's performance of a character soley on his looks. And IMO Norb is attractive in his own way, and when he sings As Long as Your Mine well..*dies* Oozes sexiness.

As this thread shows, see what I mean?
Fiyero on Broadway is just a thankless role that really does not enough time to develop itself or showcase any of an actor's ability. Haing seen pretty much every one, I still personally like David the best (he just fits the book version and the musical version very well and I happen to like his acting and singing), followed by Norbert, Derrick, Joey, and Kristoffer. Taye was...an interesting choice...and I did not enjoy Jared Botz at all.
ADAM LAMBERT! He was one of the tour understudies, and I saw his 1st of 2 performances as Fiyero while he was in the company. Fan-friggin-tastic. He was so great.
Am I the ONLY person who really liked Derrick Williams? Sure he didn't have the vocal pyrotechnics of Norbie, but I thought he did a damn fine job, especially with his acting. For once, I actually felt like the Elphie/Fiyero relationship grew a little, instead of coming out of nowhere.
Kris Cusick seems promising. Joey Mc was TERRIBLE.
