So these were the numbers (an asterisk means it's a new sketch):
Act 1
*June is Busting Out All Over (lyrics reflect the status of Broadway post-Tonys)
*Forbidden Broadway opening (lyrics slightly changed from before)
Glossy Fosse
*Mary Poppins (playoff on Supercali)
Gotta Get A Puppet
Beauty's Been Decreased
Spamalot segment
*Curtains (David Hyde Pierce doing "Slow People")
*Company (Both the opening and Raul doing "Being Intense")
*Grey Gardens (Ebersole doing "The Evolution of the Musical Today")
*You Can't Stop the Camp (Hairspray stage and movie, plus Legally Blonde)
Les Mis (At the End of the Play, Bring it Down, 10 Years More, etc.)
Act 2
Lion King
Jersey Boys (Scary, Walk Like a Man Sing Like a Girl, etc.)
Drowsy (Bob and Beth "As I Stumble Along")
Wicked ("Defying Chenoweth/Subtlety")
*Don't Monkey Around with Old Broadway
Mamma Mia
Phanton vs. Merman
*Lovemusik (Donna singing about Germans in LoveMusik vs. Spring Awakening)
*Spring Awakening (an actual skit of about 5 minutes into "The Bleep of Living")
*Chorus Line/Finale ("What I Did for Laughs")
The highlights were Company (one of the funniest skits in the past few years), Curtains, and Spring Awakening. I was talking to one of the actors afterwards and he said they are still changing stuff and have some tightening to do. Wait a few weeks and then go see this show! It is well worth it.

I want to see this now. Especially for the Spring Awakening and Company parodies.
I'm surprised they didn't do anything for The Pirate Queen. But I guess there was no making fun of to do that the show didn't unabashedly and unconsciously do to itself.
There was one brief line about Pirate Queen at the end of You Can't Stop the Camp. It was like "Grey Gardens. You Can't Stop the Camp! Mamma Mia! You Can't Stop the Camp! Pirate Queen! (pause) You CAN Stop the CAAAAAMP!" Small, but it got a laugh.
Cute. Were the Putnam County one still in I'm sure it would have been how someone would spell "Flop," too.
This sounds fantastic! Gotta catch this show this summer!

It isn't a flop...
Uh, yes, The Pirate Queen is a massive flop.
Tap, he meant if the Spelling Bee skit were still in where they ask "Please spell 'Pirate Queen'". Then Barfee comes out on stage and goes "F-L-O-P!" "That is correct" "I know!" They had Pirate Queen in that spot when the old version closed, but they took that little skit out.
I'm so excited to hear these! Sorry if I'm a little behind on this, but is a recording coming out?
^Ah, I assumed it was still "Lestat" or had maybe been changed to "The Times..." or "High Fidelity."
There will most likely be a new CD in the fall, when this version officially opens. A "Grease" parody has been written to go in later, and "it sucks to be me" with Fantasia and President Nixon was cut today. it may come back. who knows.

So question, how many of the preformed parodys are recorded? Do you have to see the show ad nauseum to see them all? Or do a good percentage get recorded.

Oh those new ones sound great!
I've seen Forbidden Broadway 4 times and I still end up falling out of my seat laughing every time.
I'll miss the Sweeney Todd parody. That was classic. But the Les Miz one is worth the whole ticket.

Are you serious??? I wrote a Nathan Lane parody song to "What I Did For Love" with the exact same title! Sh!t....
most skits get recorded...i'd say 85%...but some slip through the cracks...since the SVU...come and gone skits include: chitty, piazza, pajama game, sweeney, and more...sometimes they get put on the next cd...like mamma mia on the last one.
I would go just to see the Les Miz sketch as that is my favorite Forbidden Broadway piece of all time!
definitely! When I went to see the revival, and Stars came up, I almost laughed out loud in the theatre thinking "I called up Equity... they didn't care. They said 'boy, what a shame. Did you think this was Mame?'"
"The Evolution of a Musical Today?" Does that involve how long it takes for a show to get on? I'd love to hear more about that skit.
*never mind!*
Who's doing "Glossy Fosse" at this point? I've seen it with both Brooke Shields and Melanie Griffith.
Usher? Someone want to answer that one?
I went a second time last night. You need to see the Ebersole number. It is brilliant. SA and Company are also hysterical.
The only negative is the Beauty and the Beast number. It needs to be killed instead of decreased, oy.(I have seen that number 40 plus times)

Glossy Fosse is still Brooke Shields. Corinne, I wasn't surprised to see a Beauty skit since it's closing, but I figured they would change it a little bit. It's still exactly the same as before.
Thanks for the review! I was thinking of going to see this next week, most likely on Thursday night. Can anyone tell me if it's better to order tickets in advance, or are they usually available at the box office the day of? What about TKTS? Thanks!
