So happy that YF didn't receive a best musical nod.
Yay for Loretta Ables Sayre! And de'Adre Aziza, good for her! I definitely didn't see that one coming.
In The Heights got 13 (yay!) followed by 11 for South Pacific :)
Little Mermaid should have the spot? Seriously? I saw it and thought it was absolutely dreadful, I am very happy it is not up for Best Musical. I don't need to see Cry Baby to assume that it is better.
Yay for Passing Strange getting 9 nominations.
Also, Sondheim :)
Woo chicago too!
I think In the Heights has the most (13).
I am SOOOOO SUPRISED with CRY-BABY!!!!
over A CATERED AFFAIR?
Yayyyyy Kate Fleetwood! About effing time!
And double yayyyy for Conleth Hill and Jim Norton! If only they could have recognized all five men from The Seafarer for their wonderful performances.
Cry Baby is a bit of a shock, but nothing astounds me more than the nomination given to Grease. Did they see the shows?

Did they take the list down from the Tony website?
I just turned it on a couple minutes ago, so I missed the first few.
GYPSY - Costume Design?

I'm so glad the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre got the award! Congrats!!
Can't believe it!!
Rufus and Raúl! YAY!!
And they did permit GREASE to get the sympathy fill-in nod. Ugh.
i have a feeling THE DEER are behind this
I can't believe CRY BABY. How was AFFAIR snubbed like this?
I had a feeling GYPSY was going to get a costume nomination. I happen to like the costumes.
I am so THRILLED for Sondheim!

I knew the featrured actress cateogry would have major snubs, but de'Adre Aziza over Mary Testa, Jackie Hoffman, Alli Mauzey, Karen Olivo, Leigh Ann Larkin, Harriet Harris, Leslie Kritzer, Mary Beth Peil? Crazy!
Other surpirses: Cry-Baby! Not much love for A Catered Affair! Top Girls only getting one nom (but for a personal favorite, Martha Plimpton!). Rock n' Roll did much better than I thought it would (both Rufus & Sinead got nominations). Grease was nominated. David Pittu but not Norbert Leo Butz. None of the men from August: Osage County. Arthur Laurents, not a surprise, I thought so.

David Hyde Pierce was so thrilled that he got choked up.

Overall I think they were pretty good. Besides some maybe some too much Cry Baby love.
