Seeing it Friday night. So looking forward to it....
During Act 2, when they were just singing selected songs along with the scenes around some of them, the director did come out & say what happened between songs. Apparently, we missed out in a delightful tap number. LOL.
They did their best with what they had. I had thought Andrew Call was petting the groundhog at one point (based on the laughs from the audience, I might not have been the only one) but it wasn't until Josh Lamon used Rebecca's hat as the groundhog that I realized Andrew wasn't holding the groundhog but apparently, wiping down a bar.
Overall, despite the technical mishap, it was a fun evening and the cast & crew deserve many kudos for pulling off what they did.
A seemingly random question, but I've been told by two people that Karl's big number in the show is in the general style of R.E.M's/ Michael Stipe's almost iconic "Losing My Religion." That's the musical construct/setting, that vintage pop rock sound. It seems oddly right to me. Anyone who was there care to comment? It's certainly a type of rock ballad we haven't seen appropriated in other musicals, which I found exciting.

Lol, that was my impression at first too! :)
Btw, has anyone received their email yet about rebooking?

They were handing out slips of paper last night that said to email customerservice@jujamcyn.com to re-book, but also saying that everyone would receive an email today. I emailed, but have only received an automatic email back so far.

But the question remains...were Actor2's seats empty?

I just got mine.

I just got a rebooking email. Really straightforward, gave me a unique code that worked for 2 free tickets to any preview. I'm sure this has cost them a fair chunk financially but I've got to give them huge credit for taking an unfortunate situation and turning it into a positive experience (albeit not the one anyone was hoping for).
Am now seeing it again tomorrow night, yippee!! Also super impressed that they did this for all of us, especially since that was a FULL house (and none of us paid in the first place)...amazing.

The producers couldn't have done a better job in handling last night's mishap! I'm very excited to see the show in full.

i got the email but my code doesn't work. It begins with a Q. Do you insert it before choosing tickets? Or after?
i don't usually order through Ticketmaster. After inserting the code, I presume you hit the lock icon. But it keeps coming up incorrect. Very frustrating--help!
OK, I finally figured out what was wrong. I didn't realize--and maybe others here don't either--that when you input the code into Ticketmaster, it's best to copy and paste rather than retype it. For some reason, retyping leads to an "incorrect code" message, even though the code was entered correctly.
Live and learn.

Found the email! Got basically the seats I had the first time. Can't wait to see the full show.

I would credit Jordan Roth for that!

They really handled this correctly in every possible way.
Wondering the same that neon brought up, anyone catch if Actor2's seats were empty?

I was able to pick up a pair of center front orchestra seats for tonight with the code from yesterday-Better seats than I had last night. Very pleased at how this all was handled, and really enjoyed the one-time-only show we got last night.
Still haven't gotten my email yet. Is it coming from Groundhog day or ticketmaster?

The email will come from thankyou@jujamcyn.com and it will be titled "Rebook Your GROUNDHOG DAY Tickets!"

Jakeevan942, Are you sitting in the front row by chance? If so, would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
I won lotto for tomorrow night and am very excited to see this. I've never seen the movie, so it'll be my first real exposure to it.

The second row center was indeed empty for the first portion, though people (understandably) did move forward to take them during the hold. I don't think the reply was official, but there were around 6 empty second row seats.

I did my best to get a picture shortly before curtain, but you have to look closely to tell the empty seats:

I'm in the eighth row center, Row H. I wouldn't want to be much closer-I just went up front and the show deck is about 14 inches high, and it is just about even with the top of the front row people's heads.
will post more thoughts later, really enjoying it, and so different from yesterday
Saw this tonight. I've never been so bored at a musical before. Any Karl and the leading lady were fantastic though.
