That is sad. His energy was amazing and he was one of the great things about that film.
This is very sad news.
I hated his performance in CARRIE though. I feel bad about saying that. But this is very sad. Excellent in FAME.
This is really sad news. I remember seeing FAME when it was first released in a movie theater on Broadway in Times Square. He was only 41. Very sad.
I saw something about him on one of those VH1 "Where Are They Now?" shows. It seems that he had a rough time post-FAME: drugs, etc. Ended up in Europe somewhere, one step away from being a callboy.

How did he die?!
I read that Mr. Ray died of a stroke. How frightening that a dancer can die at such a young age.
What hope is there for the folks who abuse our bodies and don't exercise?
Mr. Ray was great in the film of FAME. He was dangerous and sexy. In the tv series of FAME, his feminine side hurt the charachter.
My thoughts are with his family, loved ones and fans.
i enjoyed him in the big screen and small screen versions of FAME. Missed CARRIE to my chagrin. Why do i have the weird urge to sermonize on the dangers of "too much too quick" for young dancers?!?!
