Gigi, Something Rotten, or Aladdin?

So I'm planning my first trip to New York in a while with my parents (who are a little older, but still very hip. I'm still in college if that gives any context!) So far, I only have tickets for Fun Home and The Visit. Here's what our schedule looks like:

Saturday - Hedwig 10pm
Sunday - The King And I
Monday - Fun Home
Tuesday - On The Twentieth Century
Wednesday - The Visit 2pm, TBD
Thursday - TBD

So, with the TBD, I'm between Gigi, Aladdin, and Something Rotten. The GMA performance of Gigi was fantastic and I am looking forward to hearing about previews, plus I figure that, King And I, and Twentieth Century will be good, classic musicals to counterbalance the more edgy/dark material like Hedwig, Fun Home, and The Visit. However, Something Rotten looks hilarious and I am loving the Aladdin cast recording (plus I grew up with the movie and we're a big Disney house)! So, of those three, which should I skip? OR should I choose all three and swap out Twentieth Century or King and I?

Whatever you choose, they all seem like good choices.

I say Something Rotten and Gigi... You've got a great line-up! Based on what I've read here of Gigi, it pretty much persuaded me to get tickets because I - like you - loved the GMA performance and have been a fan of Hudgens since HSM.

Read some thoughts on SR from last night's invited dress and asked for PMs about what they thought and I'm considering getting tickets to that over King and I because my trip is so short and can only fit 4 of the 5 shows I want to see. Sounds like a hit out of the park and there's a good discount out now!

Aladdin would be really fun if you grew up with Disney! It was one of my favorite movies as a kid so I, of course, loved the production. Also, the choreography was fun and the costumes were beautiful.

I've heard good things about SR and I'm going to see it on Tuesday- hope it lives up to all the buzz!

I would definitely cut Aladdin from your list. I saw it a couple weeks ago, and while it's a fun show, it is nothing to write home about. Gigi and Something Rotten both look great!

^ Lol. I was going to say the opposite: see Aladdin - but only because you said your family loved Disney.

But for me, it'd be near the bottom of my list. My rankings from your short list?

I'm in the minority on this but if you're really looking to cut something, I'd vote for OTTC. Unless you go in loving the show I don't think it's a surefire crowd-pleaser. I mean, you'll definitely have some fun with OTTC but if you're already a fan, Aladdin seems like more of a guarantee.

So far I'm thinking of seeing all three and skipping Twentieth Century. (Also, still planning on King And I and Hedwig!) Thanks for the input - if anyone else has thoughts still let me know!

I enjoyed ALADDIN much more than GIGI. As for SOMETHING ROTTEN, I'd suggest checking out this video clip if you haven't already seen it.

I have thoughts. I thought Fun Home was a total bore. Skip that and See anything else.
Something Rotten sounds wonderful. Honeymoon in Vegas is loads of fun. Alladin is okay.
Typical Disney.

I love Disney and Aladdin. But I would still vote for Gigi and Something Rotten.

Vanessa Hudgens does a fantastic job as Gigi, and the production is so lighthearted and beautiful. And I just WISH I could Something Rotten again. The final dress was hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard at a show ever before.
