i love this movie
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

i enjoy the movie, but in a campy way. if it were on stage, i would want it to be very "xanadu" tongue in cheek, campy, off-broadway style.

Having only seen portions of the film since the 80's, I finally watched it in full about a year ago.
I promptly bought the film on DVD a few hours later and have watched it a few times since.
That should speak for itself.

Did it do well back in the 80's? It looks like it would be fun to do in a campy style.

Following the wave of XANADU, GREASE 2 was a colossal flop theatricially but found its audience (and enormous popularity) once it started airing on cable TV and its VHS incarnation.

I was at a midnight screening for people working in Broadway theatres. I think Allen Carr sponsored this screening as a piece of goodwill toward the Broadway community.
What is the word for goodwill-backfire? Sewer gas? Felching?
As a whole, that crowd HATED this movie. Hostile is a kind word for the reaction during and after the film.

I adore Grease 2 I think if they reworked this it could work on broadway. some of the songs in the second one are alot more catchy than the songs in the first one.

I love the REPRODUCTION song.
"I don't see that many plays, and for me, musicals are rarely pleasing. I feel the actors are being put through a kind of nightmarish labor. They're like animals being forced to pull heavy carts of vegetables at incredible speeds." --- Wallace Shawn

About five years ago, The Yale Cabaret in New Haven did this as a stage musical. Very minimal sets and costumes, but very clever. They did all of the songs and most of the book from the film. I wish the cast were better--still, it was fun to watch this bit of camp live on stage!

"I don't think I even know what a pistol is!"
"I got your pistol right here!"
Ah. To have a cast singing Reproduction on an Off-Bway stage.

I've loved this movie since I was in elementary school!!!! My friends and I went bowling the other night and definitely sang "Score Tonight" the whole time! As much as I would love to see this on stage, I don't think it belongs on Broadway. Would LOVE to see a fun, campy, Xanadu-esque Off-Broadway production!

Maxwell Caulfield in leather...nuff said.
Had no idea that (or even if) the movie found an audience on TV and tape, but it's still considered a dud of Xanadu proportions, decent cast and a few decent numbers aside.

Maxwell Caulfield is so incredibly hot in this film. Almost all english guys are.
I can't believe that michelle pfeiffer is so embarrassed by this film. I think it was great. and it was her first movie. and she regrets making it. sad.

Michelle started talking about the movie in a good way, spoke about it on Ellen.
One of my favorite movies ever, saw it at least twice a week during it's cinema run, sometimes twice a day.
If Xanadua can work on stage, this as long as it has it's tongue planted firmly in cheek, should work as well.
Cheno as Stephanie.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Songsstress, see in some strange way, i could see it working.
Cheno = Leather = Ladder = Dressed a Christmas Tree = Swimwear = A Big Happy Gay New Musical.
