Great Cut Songs

I LOVE the two cut songs from Once on this Island I've heard -- Come Down from the Tree, and When Daniel Marries Me.

Beautiful songs.
Hi, Shirley Temple Pudding.

Great Cut Songs

Once I Loved A Boy from Carrie. The demo is so haunting, beautiful and powerful.

Great Cut Songs

I love Tick Tock from Company which is frequently cut due to a lack of dancing ability.
Scratch and claw for every day you're worth! Make them drag you screaming from life, keep dreaming You'll live forever here on earth.

Great Cut Songs

I loved Tattletale from 9 to 5
''With the number of people I ignore, I'm lucky I work at all in this town'' - Helena Bonham Carter

Great Cut Songs

"Love and War" from Legally Blonde
#7

Great Cut Songs

"Costco" and "Growing Up Unstable" from Next to Normal

Great Cut Songs

I've never heard it, so I have no idea how good it is, but I have always wanted to hear Burn Her (?) from Spamalot.
#9

Great Cut Songs

'More to the story' from Shrek

Great Cut Songs

I want the Good Times Back- from The Little Mermaid

I know it was in the Broadway production, but it has been cut and replaced in the Netherlands production, which is supposed to be the revised "perfect" production.

Build a Wall- Shrek

Once again was in the Broadway production and was cut from the West End version. It was my favorite song in the show and one of the few character driven songs in the entire score. Its a great men's power ballad, which we don't hear very often even if it sounds like "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty

Great Cut Songs

"There Won't Be Trumpets" from Anyone Can Whistle has made it's way into most, if not all subsequent productions after being cut from the original.
Men don't even belt.

Great Cut Songs

"Fifty Checks" was a pretty decent song cut from Broadway show " Catch Me If You Can".
#13

Great Cut Songs

I love "Ten Percent." Also a big fan of "Please, Sir" cut from THE ACT.

#14

Great Cut Songs

I'm a big fan of the song Loosing Track of Time from "Summer of '42"

Here's Farah Alvin singing it from "Even If It Only Runs a Minute".

I've always really loved All Things Bright and Beautiful and Who Could Be Blue/Little White House, both cut from Follies.

I've heard/read that there are alternate lyrics to Little White House than the ones that can be heard on most recordings. I believe they've been described as more cynical - i'd love to read them sometime. :)

"It Ain't Over Till the Fat Lady Sings" from Hairspray was a lot of fun. However, it's understandable why it was cut.

Great Cut Songs

I remember posting in another thread on this, but i liked Growing Up Unstable from Next to Normal and When Messiah Comes from Fiddler on the Roof.

I'm also very partial to buns..
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Great Cut Songs

I really liked More to the Story from Shrek. Unfortunately the staging was very, very similar to I Know The Truth (Aida).
#20

Great Cut Songs

Always liked "Once I Loved A Boy" from Carrie and "Smile, Girls" from Gypsy.
#21

Great Cut Songs

"I Want the Good Times Back" from The Little Mermaid. Such a shame it was replaced. "Love and War" was hilarious too, especially when some random Harvard dude walked by and saw Elle talking to herself.
#22

Great Cut Songs

I love "Pleasant Little Kingdom", which originally lead directly into "Too many Mornings" in FOLLIES. You can hear John McMartin and Dorothy Collins do in on the first Sondheim Tribute album (the "scrabble" album).
#23

Great Cut Songs

That's another great one. Oh, Dorothy Collins. How we miss you...

#24

Great Cut Songs

I love Small World/Mama's Talkin Soft and (cut from the original production) There Won't Be Trumpets.
#25

Great Cut Songs

I actually like "Wasting Away" better than "I Want Those Good Times Back."
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
