Not sure if this was mentioned but SNOOPY was a british musical and, from what I understand, quite popular in England. Now granted it really pales in comparison to YAGMCB but as it never had a Broadway production, I don't think we can classify it.
Oh and the entire score for Merrily We Roll Along is excellent, even if it is considered a flop.

I dissagree that Chess is a flop. The soundtracks great, and you failed to mention Someone Else's Story and I Know Him So Well.
I dont know if anyone's mentioned, but Astonishing from Little Women is a gorgeous song.

everything from little women!!!!
also, i partially agree with the.last.five.years....the chess songs mentioned don't exactly cover the legacy of the show. Although it certainly didn't last long, songs like someone else's story, I know his so well, and Anthem have been made audition/cabaret/revue staples, and they are all great songs!

It's been said, but I the title song from Anyone Can Whistle is definitely one of my favorites. I also agree with the songs from "Little Women." I still listen to that cast recording on a semi-regular basis.

Oh my god how could I forget the musicals that almost no one on BWW.com ever mentioned:
THE GRASS HARP - Brazil
BIRDS OF PARADISE - Imagining You, So Many Nights, Somebody, Something New, After Opening Night
LESTAT - Welcome To The New World, Sail Me Away, Right Before My Eyes, I Want More
BABY - Two People in Love, What Could Be Better, The Story Goes On, I Want it All, Baby Baby Baby, We Start Today, dangit EVERY SINGLE NOTE!
TABOO - Stranger In This World, I See Through You, Safe in the City
THE HAPPY TIME - The Happy Time
WOMAN OF THE YEAR - The Grass Is Always Greener
THE RINK - Chief Cook and Bottlewasher, Don't "Ah, Ma" Me, The Rink, Colored Lights
CAPTAIN LOUIE (no offense to any of my friends involved) - Trick or Treat, Looza On the Block, Captain Louie, Big Red Plane, New Kid in the Neighborhood
And RAGTIME might have closed at a loss, but it never started out like one, hence, NOT a flop. Again I do not like to think about shows that lasted less than 120 performances as flops. Reviews and losses are one thing, but the performances (if there are any) really matter in my opinion.

I mentioned the Rink, good choices, but not all of Baby is great in my opinion. Romance isn't so great.

Was Kiss of the Spider Woman a flop? If it is, I have to add She's A Woman. So beautiful...

Are we counting Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as a flop? I know it ended its run at a loss, but it was pretty big. In any case, it was a very good score all around.

there was a breakfast at tiffany's musical!?
does anyone have a recording of it..?
and i also think, "i know him so well" from chess is gorgeous also.
as well as, "romance, romance" from the show of the same title is great.
and "some things are meant to be" from little women.
and "who will love me as i am" from side show.

Almost the entire score of Candide, but someone mentioned Glitter and Be Gay, and I think especially Make Our Garden Grow. (Then there's Candide's Lament, It Must Be So...okay I need to stop.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

Carl Magnum-
YAGMCB DID transfer to Broadway in the summer of 71 to the Golden (I have a poster saying so), And there was a revival on Broadway in 1999 with Anthony Rapp, Kristin Chenoweth, B.D. Wong and Roger Bart.

I'll agree that Taboo had some nice songs.
Eve Was Weak is great.
There Won't be Trumpets from Anyone can Whistle.
and I like most of Mack and Mabel.
skingdom out.
