there was a breakfast at tiffany's musical!?
does anyone have a recording of it..?
Yes, Mary Tyler Moore played Holly. It closed four nights after it's first preview. There's a studio recording with Faith Prince as Holly.
I enjoy most songs from Mack and Mabel and The Rink.
Someone in April from Carmelina
Right in front of your eyes - Wedding singer... don't know if that song has been mentioned but it's my favorite song ever, my most played on Ipod and everything (even though i love the wedding singer, it was unfortunately a flop)
and the whole score of bare, if that's considereed a flop since it never made it to broadway or what not, it's still amazing, but i do not consider this show a flop i dont think many people do.

I am copying this entire thread! You all - especially you Josh - are needed by the student section. There is an unending search for the great - but, not too popular - song to audition with. I think that you have produced a mini directory of new possibilities. Great job!
I agree with many of the previously listed and include:
Ben Franklin in Paris - Look For Small Pleasures
Goldilocks - I Never Know When to Say When, Beast in You, Lady in Waiting

Allegro - So Far
Pipe Dream - All at Once You Love Her

Louisiana Purchase - What Chance Have I With Love?
**Am I mistaken, or is "Boom Chicka Boom" from Nick and Nora actually a ripoff of Norman Henderson's "Cuban Pete"? It's sounds nearly identical, but I don't have the song or lyrics nearby for comparison.**
I wouldn't consider Bare a flop. It sold out it's whole time at ATA.

WILDCAT: The entire score
I've got Tom Sawyer on the brain so I'm gonna say "To Hear You Say My Name".
Once Upon a Time from All American
Mister Matt you just said everything I was thinking in my head.
Gypsy 9 while Shall I from Goldilocks has a great chorus the verse is horrific and unnecessary. It doesn't set the song up well and detracts from the loveliness of the question at hand.
What about Make the Man Love Me from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn or Slightly Perfect from Are You With It, Dr. Freud from I Had a Ball or All Things to One Man from The Grind.
"Saturday"-LOLITA, MY LOVE
"Same Old Song"-LOLITA, MY LOVE

I don't know what the song is called (I'm guessing it's the reprise of "Heaven"), but that song during the prom scene in "Carrie" when all the principal characters are singing (including an eerie Margaret offstage) is awesome! That whole scene (until the lackluster destruction, which was probably better in the theatre than on tape) is great!
Lawyers from A Broadway Musical
"Maybe, Maybe Not" from A BROADWAY MUSICAL. It sounds exactly like "If He Walked Into My Life" but Debbie Gravitte can sell a number like no other.
But You Go On from Annie Warbucks
That is a seriously "actable" song.
You know what, I don't think anyone's mentioned "Baby"! For a show with such a flawed book, the score is absolutely delightful.
I Want It All
The Story Goes On
Two People In Love
Patterns
An What If We Had Loved Like That?
Good stuff.
I do sort of like the score of the Wedding Singer. I'm not crazy about it as a serious musical, but some of the songs like: "If I Told You" are fairly enjoyable.
I also happen to like "Once Upon A Dream," "In His Eyes" and especially "Dangerous Game" from Jekyll and Hyde. No, Jekyll and Hyde wasn't a financial flop, but it definitely was an artistic flop with an altogether awful score, so that's why I feel those songs belong on the list.

I really liked "Going, Going, Gone" and "In the Broken Promise Land of Fifteen" from "Lolita, My Love". In fact, I believe that whole show featured a fantastic score and libretto; it was the source material that turned out to be troublesome.
