....apparently....
"The “Grey Gardens” original-cast album on PS Classics is the Playwrights Horizons Off Broadway version from which a few songs were dropped and replaced by new ones. Secondary cast changes were also made. A recording of the revised show is being prepared for release in mid-March on the same label..."
The accompanying article itself is an interesting read. It's a comparison of the new Broadway scores.

Thanks for posting the article. Holden makes some very perceptive observations on these two great scores.

I'm just excited to have the CD with Erin Davie singing the Little Edie role.
I think her accent makes the songs.

Posted: 2/9/07 at 1:22pmI am thrilled. I think it is such a treat to have both versions available to note changes and additions. What a luxury. I am so happy. I love Erin Davies voice, but really miss "Better Fall Out of Love." I thought that was a great song. :)

I love all the so-called "experts" who called this one the other way
'Why do I find this unrealistic?'
'extremely'
Some of the same people who also say that full show recordings would never make money either.
Hrm....

You're a hack.
An opinion is just that - it can't be right and it can't be wrong. So your saying "the majority opinion cannot always be correct" is wrong. Opinions are opinions.
I think you're a F*CKwad. That's my opinion. There's no way to prove it either way.

Posted: 2/9/07 at 3:28pmSo are they re-recording the entire score? Or will it be a Wonderful Townish, Greasy kind of deal with the new material and performances inserted?

Obviously, you can't read what is right before you.
I wrote "that majority opinion is not always the correct one"
not
"the majority opinion cannot always be correct"
which are not the same statements.
on an unrelated note, how do you report someone? anyone know how?

I'm sure the cheaper way would be to go the Grease/Wonderful Town (with Brooke Shields) route.
However, if they want the most accurate representation of the Broadway score, they'll go completely into the studio.
Considering they haven't recorded it yet and they're targeting a mid-March release date, I'd say they're using the first option. However, I could be wrong.

Posted: 2/9/07 at 4:10pmhonestly, wouldn't it just be cheaper to do an EP on iTunes of the new songs or somesuch?
