Was Titus wearing a fat pad?
He looks like a skinny person wearing bad padding.
It was an awful performance. Mic problems or no. The only part that moved me to feel any positive emotion was the awesome vocal work of Mary Testa. But even then, it was half-hearted because I know even she can do better work.
All I could think about is how the '92 revival's performance is so incredible. And it made me depressed.
yes, his costume includes padding.
Well, it looks AWFUL.
Who cares that he can sing the crap out of it. It was so distracting watching that tiny head on that avacado shaped body.
The designer should be shot.

They might sing the hell out of it but they didn't last night. Did Mary Testa sing at all?
This number definitely disappointed. Give me Walter Bobbie or Stubby Kaye any day. And since when does "Sit Down" take that many liberties with music and lyrics? Props to Tituss, though, for not completely breaking character when he had mic issues.

Thanks for the cite to the London production - the beginning was priceless because you could see Nicely-Nicely improvising until he got caught up in it - lots of fun!

I too thought to myself what would Frank Loesser think. We all know how he wanted his musical numbers song and performed a certain way.
Tituss was brilliant despite the audio problems! That boy could sing the phonebook! I dont get why everyone just loves Mary Testa. Having never seen her in any other production, I found her performance last night obnoxious if anything!
I think that since Oliver Platt, and Lauren Graham are the biggest stars/ what everyone is going to see the show for, why didn't they use them in a number. A medley of songs would have been better.
Didn't the 1976 revival take some liberties with this song? It's not like it's the first time it's happened.
Because there is no recollection of the Donmar's "Sit Down..."

I prefer the '92 revival to the Donmar.
I thought this number was a major letdown. I keep remembering the energy and power of the Tony performance of this same song from the 90s revival featuring Walter Bobbie and there just ain't no frikkin' comparison!
They performed this number because it's their showstopper, but I also would have liked to see a medley featuring the leads. They needed to play to their strengths; they should have highlighted their stars.
I think they did play to their strengths by not highlighting their stars. I would love it if they recorded this song as a single if they're not going to do a cast album. I know I'm in the minority, but I do like the arrangement.
I would settle for a soundboard recording.
