Hi, I'm just curious whether you know where the rush seats for "Gypsy" generally are located, the quality of the view, that sort of thing. Thanks!
First ten rush for each show are front row and after that it's rear balcony. Front row has a really high stage but there isn't much that you miss and it's great to have them right there in front of you. I haven't sat in the rear but have heard that it's kind of far.

I actually just did it this past Sat and got there at 8am and though I was going for the matinee, the 8pm front rows were already gone by my turn. I got the 3rd pair for matinee (of 10 seats).
Though, there was a whole family that lined up EARLY (6am?) to make sure they got 6 for the evening so they took 3/5ths of the 8pm right away.
They sell partial view seats in the orchestra before they go to the balcony. Meaning after the front row is gone they sell the far left and right sides of the orchestra in the first few rows as student rush and THEN sell the balcony.

*BUMP*
Do they still have rush tickets for Gypsy now that it has opened?
EDIT: I only ask because I called the box office today and asked, and they told me that they may be only offering SRO tickets from here on out (I would be going in May). Has anyone else heard this?

Plus you might get a ripped up letter written from June to Mamma Rose or maybe even an apple!
I rushed on a previous Sat. and got there at 7:30. Definately get there no later than 8:30. The front row is the best! I got an apple and part of the letter.

Im planning on rushing Gypsy on Wednesday the 21st hoping to get front row seats. If i got to the theater around 9:45am is there a decent chance that there will be any seats left for the front row?

I got to the theatre at 10:15 Wednesday morning and got box seats for the matinee. The seats were amazing; I felt like I was on stage!

Awesome!
When the show priemered I had absolutely no interest in seeing it but now I wanna see it more and more each day. Hopefully when I go see this in May I get great seats because if they offer me Rear-Balcony seats I'll come back another day.
