HAIR casting?

Other than Groff and Caren Lyn Manuel, are there any other members of the Central Park Hair cast that won't be continuing on with it to Broadway? Is Allison Case going to leave Mamma Mia to be a part of this?

Yes, Allison is going to HAIR.

Misleading title much? Put in a question mark.

re: HAIR casting

I saw nothing deceptive about this thread title.

re: HAIR casting

Patina is also not going with the show. She has been cast in Dreamgirls in London.

re: HAIR casting

That's great for her, she is a sweet and talented girl! What role?

re: HAIR casting

Not sure, actually. But Allison is definitely confirmed to reprise her role as Crissy.

re: HAIR casting

Anyone feeling de'Adre Aziza as a replacement for Patina Renea Miller?

Because I am.

re: HAIR casting

Jay73, when was a London revival of DREAMGIRLS even announced?

Everything I've heard up until now has indicated that Patina Miller is transferring with the show, least of all to be leaving for a project that seems to be non-existent.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

From Witches of Oz according to her Facebook:

"Recent statuses of Julie (Reiber)

11/21 1:35: Julie is feelin good. Good things a comin!!
11/21 5:44: Julie is....whew!
Today 8:52am:Julie is awake and holding her breath for good news!
Today 2:15pm:Julie is breathing deeply then till next week. .

Hmmm...... she also just became a part of the Hair on Broadway group. Coincidence?

Ohmygod I'm such a stalker!"

re: HAIR casting

Well, it seems like this is going to be a totally different production, just with the same production team. I hope it transfer well. I thought Hanke was good in the role, but his vocal were lacking. I always figured him to be a strong singer.

re: HAIR casting

I think Patina is doing Sister Act in London come May 2009 when it opens...which it may come to Broadway afterward.

re: HAIR casting

I pray Patina transfers. I could have listened to her sing "Aquarius" for the full two-and-a-half hours.

re: HAIR casting

I think it's weird that the cast of Hair is supposed to perform in two days in the Thanksgiving Parade, yet the cast hasn't been announced yet. So, if it's not announced by Thursday, do they have to wear bags over their heads during the performance, so we can still be surprised when they get around to announcing it?? :)

re: HAIR casting

They'll probably do an ensemble number....so it won't really matter if not all the roles have been cast.

BUT...I REALLY wanna know who will be playing Claude!!!!!

re: HAIR casting

I have a feeling that the parade will include people from the Delacorte cast, probably not whoever is playing Claude.

re: HAIR casting

I didn't expect to see "Claude" at the parade....I just want to know! (Which is why I assume they will do an ensemble number.)

Sorry, dramamama, I was replying to the person above you. And I also really want to know who is playing Claude. =)

re: HAIR casting

Not sure where this information about Patina is coming from...the only Dreamgirls production going on right now is the national tour which is not cast yet. And yes she was apart of the first Sister Act but she was not in a big role compared to her role in Hair...I find it hard to believe that she would not make her Broadway Debut in a major role and instead go too London for a show that she doesn't have a big part in that might or might not transfer to Broadway. But I guess time will tell!...I do know that out of alot of people in the cast she is one of the main people that the producers wanted back!

re: HAIR casting

I do know that auditions are currently going on....but I don't know how many people they are looking to cast.

re: HAIR casting

More than anyone else, I'm hoping and praying that Will Swenson transfer with it. I didn't see Hair last summer, but I saw Rock of Ages and think he's super.

re: HAIR casting

I'm sure that his contract with Rock of Ages will have something to do with that!

But I thought he was wonderful in Hair.

re: HAIR casting

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he has a clause in his contract (as do most equity members, or all) that he can leave the show with proper notice for a gig that pays better. He's allowed to break the contract (I'm pretty sure) for a show that pays more. Obviously, HAIR pays more.

Also, he pretty much knew that HAIR was transferring when he signed on with ROA. Why wouldn't he put that in his contract?
